Had a bad Valentine experience here. Effort was there for the set up. Chairs were tied with ribbon, tables were decorated. But too greedy, tables were too close to each other. Difficult to move around, to washroom and difficult for waiters to serve food . Check my photo. And because table is small, not all the food I ordered can fit in, so I asked this foreign "F" waiter to change my pork shoulder to smaller plate but ended up threw away by his colleague due to his carelessness. Was really dissapointed but F tried to compensate by offering 15% discount off the pork and a Velvet cake, so it was still ok. The cake was not even served cold though. What's even worst was, i had to ask for 5 times for my first teapot refill and 3 times for my 2nd refill. So i gave up for 3rd refill. I guess we were not only the 1 having bad time because the table next to us had to make a few calls for their desert to serve. And the table next next to us had his coaster threw to him because the waiter couldn't get in to serve properly. Speaking of responsiveness, after 24 hours no 1 answered my Fb message regarding parking.
Food wise (the only commendable):- Grilled Pork shoulder - 4/5, their own BLACK sauce is unique (RM38) Medium-rare Ribeye - 4/5, thick and juicy. The red wine sauce was the best I had (RM66) Cheesy Garlic Bread - 5/5, cheesy, boomerang-able, savoury appetizer. Portion is huge, for 4 person. Sour dough bread perfectly matched with the garlic sauce (RM24)
Road shoulder parking is quite sufficient. Found 1 immediately...
Read moreI came by with my partner last night as I had walked past it multiple times. We ordered the five star truffle linguine and the strictly medium rare ribeye - thinking that these are pretty confident claims and we couldn’t go wrong with them as they are on the restaurants top 10 list too.
The linguine was alright. But boy were we wrong with the ribeye. I have never returned and refused a dish and last night I did.
The restaurant is quite dimly lit, but when we cut into the steak, we realised the texture was off. We usually have our steak medium rare and instantly noticed something was wrong. We used our phone lights to see the meat and it was seared on the top but otherwise totally raw (not even rare). The sauce was a red wine sauce but it tasted like it had gone bad as well. The waiters were lovely and took it back apologetically to have it cooked.
When they brought it back to the table, we tried a piece each - but the meat was definitely not a ribeye and it tasted funky. We returned the dish and left after. We both got upset stomachs through the night and this morning.
My recommendation is if you’re going to serve your steak “strictly medium rare” you need to actually store, prepare and cook it decently. Otherwise you’re at high risk of giving your customers food poisoning. We were so shocked we didn’t take any photos but we hope that the restaurant will take extra care in these matters as this is completely...
Read moreHad lunch with my cousin here in back in April before the lockdown to check this place out, it serves a unique Nasi Lemak Banjir (Non Halal) in a hot claypot.
The portion's pretty big, so be prepared for a big lunch if you come here. There were a few options of nasi lemak - Wild Boar, Roast Pork, Curry chicken or Fried Chicken.😋
We opted for the Wild Boar and Roast Pork. The sides that comes with nasi is truly generous and quite interesting. 🤔
Plenty of sambal, sunny side up egg, Sotong kicap mantis, tempura Enoki mushrooms (LOL) and the pièce de résistance I thought was when you pour generous amounts of curry gravy into the claypot, flooding your nasi lemak. Check out the sizzle on the claypot! 😍
The reopening of businesses are starting to happen despite the still high daily infection numbers, so we still have to be wary about going outside. So I guess we'll still have be patient about the situation before deciding to visit our favourite eating places. Stay...
