Came to the outlet in Publika. Was attracted by the nice ambience. Ordered the Signature Portuguese Egg tart and Custard Pear tart. Both were so sub-standard I was rather taken aback given that the prices in this place is not exactly cheap. There was absolutely nothing signature about the egg tart as it was hopelessly flat and tasteless. As for the Custard Pear tart, the crust was so hard, i had to use a knife to cut it! The pear was flat, dry and had a weird metallic taste to it. And when my friend politely asked the staff to heat it up, she gave her this rude "why are you disturbing me" look and asked her "how many seconds"? Pretty stupid question given that the staff ought to have known how long it should be heated for. In any event, the 2 pastries came back not warm at all! Then there was the chipped glass (for water). Not to mention the poor service - when i asked a waitress for cutleries, she retorted rather rudely "take yourself" pointing at a counter in the corner. I was surprised of this arrangement given this place is certainly not a fast food restaurant for me to be picking up cutleries myself especially with the prices they were charging in the menu. Also, such an arrangement is very unsatisfactory given the Covid and all. I notice several customers who picked up more cutleries / serviettes than they needed only to place it back in the respective little baskets. Surely this does not help in the stemming of Covid transmissions (have a good mind of informing the authorities). Lastly, the lemon tea i ordered came sweetened even though i did not ask for any sugar in it. You would think a premium-priced place like this would serve your tea with sugar on the side. Overall, unless you could eat the nice ambience, this place is a bloody waste of time and money. Pastries bad. Tea bad. Cutleries / glasses bad, Covid protection measures bad. And above all staff attitude really...
Read moreJust had lunch with a friend. We ordered the truffle unagi bagel for sharing, RM33.80. Then we served with Avocado bagel, RM 22+. We didn't even know they served the wrong dish until the waiter came and serve us with the correct dish, which is Truffle Unagi. We already had the 1st bite of the avocado, and the waiter said, it is ok, we can continue with the avocado, and he left the truffle unagi with us. At that time, we were impressed with their attitude and customer service. I mean it is not that we want to take advantage, as we have already asked the waiter if they want to have the avocado back, but since we have already taken the 1st bite, the waiter said it is ok. We were kind of guilty too. Anyways, we continued to enjoy the avocado bagel, until a waitress ( could be the store supervisor ) came up to us and told us that they have to charge us the avocado if we want to continue to eat it or we have to return the half-eaten avocado bagel. We told her that when the unagi was served, we already had bitten the avocado bagel, and we even asked the previous waiter what should we do. She argued that the waiter did mention it was avocado when he served it. But honestly, we did not hear that. It could be he really did mention, but we did not hear. It could be due to the noisy environment at that time. In the end, we returned the half-eaten avocado bagel. Am just wondering what sort of mentality is this? Is this how the staffs are trained? Wonder what good would it do to the reputation of this chain. They would rather throw half-eaten bagel than leave a good reputation for themselves. The staff at Christine's Bakery Publika should be given proper F&B training. In normal circumstances, at a high-end cafe, am pretty sure this would not have happened. Very disappointed and left us with lots of frustration & ambiguity for being treated in...

Christine’s Bakery is famous for their assorted choices of bagel 🥯 type and the fillings .. it’s goes from meats 🥩 , seafoods 🐟 , fruits 🍓 , cheese 🧀 and avocado 🥑. So these were our combos..
Homemade Croissant 🥐 Texas Burger ! the filling consist of the burger patty that is made of 85% USA Angus corn-fed beef + 15% Japanese wagyu fat , tempura onion ring , caramelised onion, cheddar cheese , Smokey bbq aioli . -for the taste, the croissant was quite hard on the crust ... the it was not pleasant . We would recommend sourdough bread as the bun for this ✌️ the filings in it, was superb 🤯, juicy patty ... smoky bbq paired it well. The tempura and caramelised onion 🧅 provided an aromatic therapy for the whole experience. It was awesome 🤩
cheese bagel with cream cheese 🥯! -the title is correct , double down on the cheese 🧀! It’s a cheese bagel type and the fillings are Oreo , cream cheese , almond , strawberry 🍓 , cranberry, and blueberry 🫐 jam. Any sweet tooth here ? this is a pure joy for bagel and cheese lover, the bagel was perfect ... cheese 🧀 level was excellent and generous . The fruits in it provided the sweetness with a small hint of sourness ... which was refreshing. It was tasty 😋.
