D'Fortune Western Cuisine & Cafe — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

Was passing by this place to go to another place for dinner and then we saw the crowd so we thought we would give this place a try

We were given a table in the open air as the place is fairly full, no air conditioning, no fan but fortunately it was a cool evening.

I tried to order a lamb Shane but was sold out. My daughter ordered Gordon Blue Chicken. I ended up with Sirloin steak.

The buns came out soft, I would prefer it crispy, if they warm them up but they came with premium soft butter and made up for it.

I ordered a giant glass of lime with sour plum as I was super thirsty. I was a little disappointed that it's rather thin and a bit too salty.

My minestrone soup was okay but was a little thin, it could use a little cream. No complains about my daughter's mushroom soup.

My steak came as expected, raw and I thought I Will still be hungry after eating but it turned out that the portion was just enough. The taste was good with mushroom sauce but I hated the tasteless piece of cauliflower. And I didn't like the beans at the side, I would prefer fries instead. The cherry tomatoes made up for the other veggies.

My daughter's food was good, although she tasted better Chicken Gordon Blue in Bangkok.

I was so thirsty because of the heat that I ordered an additional glass of water melon and again it was just a little thin and my guess is that they put in some sugar.

This is the 4th time we've dined in. The first few times were amazing. Everything we ordered was delicious. However, I must say that we're terribly disappointed with all the food we ordered today. All the more as we were celebrating a birthday today.

Onion rings - tasted like it came out of a bag. Not freshly made. Nachos - omg. It was slightly burnt on the edges & the cheese was just a lump on the top. The waiter said that if we came on a day that was less busy, they would do it nicely for us. But today was a busy day so that had to do it fast. Wow! Really? Mashed potatoes - the msg taste in the brown sauce was overwhelming. Fish & chips - was just so so Lamb chop with mushroom sauce - the lamb was chewy and difficult to pierce with a fork.. Lamb chop with black pepper sauce - the lamb slices were thin and just generally disappointing. Why do the waiters give us soup spoons instead of table spoons?

Needless to say, we didn't bother with dessert.

On the plus side, the customer service was excellent. The waiter was friendly and alert. He noticed that our table was wobbly and helped fix it without being asked.

My visit to this restaurant left much to be desired. While the food was decent, the overall experience was marred by severely lacking hospitality.

Upon arrival of our food, our waiter informed us that we had to finish our meal within 30 minutes as they would be closing soon. I was taken aback by this sudden rush, especially since we were not informed when placing our order. When questioned, the staff had no satisfactory answer to offer.

Even more disappointing was the response from the owner, whom I believe is named Danny. When I confronted him about the rushed service, he dismissively replied, "Okay, so what's the problem now?" His attitude only added to the frustration of the situation.
