I had the pleasure of dining here recently, and from start to finish, it was a delightful experience that combined authentic flavours, generous portions, and excellent hospitality.
The restaurant has a cozy, no-frills atmosphere – exactly what you would expect from a place that focuses on getting the food just right. It was clean, well-lit, and busy, which is always a good sign. The moment we stepped in, the aroma of simmering herbs and pork bones filled the air, instantly building anticipation.
We ordered the classic herbal Bak Kut Teh, a pot of dry Bak Kut Teh, and a few side dishes like you tiao (fried dough sticks), braised tofu, peanuts, and vegetables in oyster sauce. The herbal soup was rich and fragrant, with just the right balance of Chinese herbs and spices — not too overpowering, but strong enough to satisfy true Bak Kut Teh lovers. The pork ribs were incredibly tender, falling off the bone with every bite. You could tell that it had been simmered for hours.
The dry Bak Kut Teh was equally impressive. It came served in a claypot, sizzling with dark soy sauce, dried chillies, garlic, and okra. The meat was flavourful and slightly caramelized around the edges, giving it a nice smoky kick. This version is perfect for those who enjoy a bolder, slightly spicier taste.
One of the highlights of our meal was the homemade chilli garlic sauce – spicy, tangy, and incredibly addictive. It elevated every bite. The you tiao was crispy and fresh, perfect for dipping into the soup, and the side dishes were well-prepared, providing a good balance to the heavier meat dishes.
Service was prompt and friendly. The staff were attentive, quick to clear empty dishes, and happy to refill our soup bowls without us having to ask. We were served with a smile, and the waiters were more than willing to offer recommendations based on our preferences.
Price-wise, the meal was very reasonable considering the portion sizes and quality of ingredients. We left feeling full, satisfied, and already planning our next visit. It’s not just a place to eat — it’s a place that brings back memories of home-cooked meals and family gatherings.
In conclusion, whether you’re a tourist looking to try an iconic Malaysian dish or a local craving a comforting bowl of Bak Kut Teh, this restaurant delivers in every way. It’s a gem that deserves all the praise it gets — great food, great service, and great value.

Read moreWas there today for brunch (29 Oct). It was our second time dining in. First time experience was good except the BKT was not hot when served. Today, was served by a young lady who has told us that we can only order BKT with only spare ribs for one pax, per table. Told her 6 days ago , I had ordered such portion for 2 pax, which she then told me it is a new policy by Kitchen? She was not too friendly when telling us this and did not give us any options ( e.g. soft bone ribs). Told her we are with 6 pax, one portion BKT with spare ribs was really strange. At the end, we ordered 2 portion with pure spare ribs and 2 portion with soft bone ribs. If they want to rational the spare ribs BKT, should do it with some sensible logic. A few mins later, I had requested her to let the Kitchen know that we would like the BKT hot, instead of luke warm like few days ago. Instead of requesting on behalf of me, she argued that it was due to air-cond? If you read the reviews here, you can also see similar feedback on the food temperature. When we walked out from the restaurant, saw her getting up and planning to greet us out, however, as soon as she saw it was us leaving, she immediately turned back and sat down. Management, we had good experience with the food , and atmosphere, but some staff will need...

Eating piping hot herblious bak kut teh is really Soul-Warming, comforting, especially during the rainy season (no banjir pls)... Banjir with flavour is okay just where you find right here.
Their soup base is not too herbalious to over shadow the juicy thick pork especially 3 layers pork is my favourite when you bite into it you can taste the fat part like cloud of flavour and the meat part juicy... Enjoy both together is heavenly. Amber's dad like the Big Bone BKT and her mum and sisters prefer the Dry BKT because it is more flavorful and umami from dark sause and slightly kick from the chill. Having both soup and dry BKT is perfect for all kind of taste bud among family and friends.
Make sure you give a visit to this new Fengang Bak Kut Teh 风港肉骨茶 Old Klang...
