Xenri Japanese Cuisine — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

Already feedback this to the restaurant but would like to put it here to let everyone know and hope that there were improvements made. There were some good and some bad & honestly for the price, I expected more:

TLDR; Expensive but quality food, good ambience but poor service and would not revisit.

Seating arrangement: I requested to sit by the pond as per prior reservation but I got the most inward seating instead Which was understandable that it’s up to availability but I saw many empty tables there 😐 -The table buzzer was not working, as it was the most inward table, calling for waiter has been a hassle. -The waiter could show more professionalism, the sashimi was dropped to floor when serving, small mistake, however no acknowledgment was given, instead the sashimi was still served. Had to call another waiter (which again was a hassle as per point 2, then only the plate was replaced), which left a bad impression for me. -One thing good is that the food is pleasant and the meal was enjoyable. This isn’t our first visit to Xenri and it certainly won’t be our last. As always, the food was excellent – fresh, flavourful and beautifully presented. The variety available on the menu, from traditional Japanese dishes to a wide selection of sake makes each visit a unique experience.

Service is consistently top-notch. The staff are attentive, friendly and knowledgeable adding to the overall pleasant dining experience. The ambiance is calm, elegant and welcoming – perfect for a relaxing meal or a special occasion.

That said, prices are on the higher side which might not suit everyone’s budget but the quality of food and service justifies it in our opinion.

One area that could be improved is the parking situation. Finding a spot can be quite challenging especially during peak hours. The open-space parking provided doesn’t have a guard which may be a concern for some guests.

Despite the parking hassle, Xenri continues to be one of our favourite Japanese restaurants. We always leave satisfied and look forward to our next visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in authentic...
