Substandard for what I was preparing to pay. I probably should have gotten the hint when I called for a reservation and the response I got was 'come in, we're not that busy.' Considering the day I was booking for was Father's day, we were immediately suspicious. But we went anyway.
When we got there, not only did we get no service, we had to figure out the online menu ourselves until a waiter finally came over. We were the second table in the restaurant. There was literally only one other table.
The waiter also declined to mention that the whole reason I was there, i.e. smoked ribs they were apparently famous for, along with all items smoked, were unavailable for the whole month. The WHOLE. MONTH.
Obvious tactic for hooking in customers. Fine. We stayed and ordered something else. However, the menu itself was extremely limited, and half of it was smoked foods. We ordered a skewer set (8 skewers), house-made chicken sausages, seafood tomato soup, and a mushroom bowl.
The real disrespect is from the fact that they arbitrarily changed the mix-skewer set due to a lack of ingredients, giving us 2 each of mushroom, chicken wing, chicken, and beef skewers. They could have at least told us there were no more ingredients and asked of we'd like to continue eating there, but no. Of course not. They would rather give us food we don't want, and we can't leave because we didn't know where else to go and food was already served. For all I know, there was never smoked food served, and it was all a farce so they could get customers in.
I wouldn't recommend the food because some tasted good, but some didn't. Inconsistent quality. For example, the seafood soup was good, and so was the mushroom, but the chicken sausage was spotty. The meat wasn't grinded fully, there wasn't really nuch emulsification on the meat, and the casings weren't tight somehow...
The drinks were off too. My table ordered a Henny and a lemon drink with some kinds of leaves (maybe mint). The leaves were brown and dry; the drink itself was sour, but not the good kind of sour. Not worth the price. My total...
Read moreBoutique restaurant with lovely vibe... only to be dampened by poor service from a waitress that left much to be desired.
Arrived between 7:30-8pm for dinner, went upstairs for the unique cozy wood atmosphere. After we got our menus (With just 3 sets to choose from), a young waitress told us politely and gently that we aren't allowed upstairs and to sit downstairs. This could have been avoided with a sign board but they must have had their reasons.
We went down and ordered our food, and when I asked several questions, like if their mashed potatoes had been premixed with blackpepper, the waitress said only the chef knows, so I ordered their Butter Rice instead.
The whole chicken leg and chicken chop was cooked nicely. Plating, presentation, deco and dressing with herbs was befitting of the restaurant. LOVED THE MUSHROOM SOUP.
HOWEVER, their so called "Butter Rice" had almost little to no difference from normal white rice except that we could vaguely taste a little oil. When we asked the same young waitress how was this a "Butter Rice", again she said only the Chef knows...
... ... ... seriously...?
Fine, we just ate our meal, but when we wanted to call for the bill or get their attention, the 3 employees on the floor (two ladies and one young man) just kept chatting away.
THAT. Was. The. Last. Straw.
Maybe their SOP is for us to come and pay at the counter ourselves, that is perfectly fine. But to intentionally or unintentionally ignore a customer waving their hand for more than 2 minutes while you chat away is completely UNPROFESSIONAL.
Very good environment, slightly above average food, extremely disappointing customer service.
RM100 is NOT worth such...
Read moreI've been a regular at Le Pont Boulangerie at the Old Klang Rd outlet since it first opened nearly 9 years ago, and it continues to be one of my favourite spots—not just for its delicious offerings and relaxing ambiance, but more importantly, because of the people who work there. The staff have always stood out for their warmth, attentiveness, and genuine customer-focused approach. It's rare to find a place where you’re consistently greeted with smiles and served with such care, and Le Pont has managed to maintain that standard through the years. One particular staff member, Zira, (photo posted) has made a lasting impression on me. Over the years, she has become more than just a familiar face—she's become a friend. Her excellent customer service, cheerful nature, and thoughtful gestures have made every visit a pleasure. She often goes the extra mile to ensure her customers feel welcome and valued, and it’s that kind of commitment that keeps us coming back. I’ve also observed how hard Zira and the rest of the team work—juggling multiple roles from barista to cashier to server—all while staying composed and professional. It’s a demanding job, and yet they carry it out with grace and dedication. Michelle, the Manager, leads by example. She is just as hands-on, never pulling rank, and that kind of leadership sets a great tone for the whole team. Le Pont is more than just a café to us—it’s a place where we’ve felt seen and appreciated as customers. Kudos to the entire team for their continued excellence in customer service. Thank you for creating a space that...
