Atmosphere: 4/5 There are two shoplots—one is fully air-conditioned, while the other isn’t. Both are well-lit with cool white lighting, making the space comfortable.
Service: 4/5 The service was efficient. Staff came quickly to take our order, and they were responsive to our requests. The food was served within 5 minutes, which is impressive.
Food: 3/5 (Overall Rating)
• Claypot XO Fish Head Noodles: 2/5 The noodles were cut into shorter pieces, making them easier to scoop, but the fish head was mostly bones (about 70% bones, 30% meat). The soup had a sour tang, which made it appetising, and you can request for extra soup if needed. • Lou Shu Fun: 3/5 A bit on the dry side, and we had to stir it ourselves as it was served in a pot over fire. • Honey Chicken Wings: 4/5 A must-order! This was my favourite dish of all. • Fried Intestine: 4/5 Tasty but quite spicy, so make sure to request less chilli if you can’t handle too much heat.
Pricing: 2/5 On the pricier side for the portion and quality.
Parking: 2/5 Parking is a challenge as usual, with most people resorting to parking by the roadside.
Will I come again? It’s 50/50—probably not for the food, but maybe for the experience.

Located in a very difficult to park place near Kuchai Lama, Goon Wah is famous for their claypot XO fish head noodles 3.5 🌟 and is a top fish head noodles place in Klang Valley. However, was quite dissapointed as it was so so only. Well, the soup is those less milky and it comes in a Claypot with chunky fried fish head, tomato, bean curd, Yam and salted vegetables. The thick noodles is a bit too soft and in fact doesn't taste much like fish head noodles.
However the Yam Braised Pork (Woo Tau Kau Yok) 4.5 🌟 is really good. It's very authentic in flavour and pairs perfectly with the bun (man Tou). We also tried the Claypot Lou Shi Fun 4 🌟 which is the Claypot version of Hakka Mee. This was very delicious with just the right flavour and also crispy Minced pork. Worth mentioning is also their Barley (Foo Chuk Yee Mai) 4.5 🌟 dessert which was also very nice... Less Sweet and tastes good.

Read moreMy last visit here was easily 7 years ago though I did go to their other branch in Damansara Jaya more recently. The place has not changed at all, though it seems better organized and cleaner. Parking is still a challenge, lucky we came early so it was not too bad.
We ordered the usual fish head XO, claypot loy sui fun , plate of vegetable and a meat dish ( pork belly meat sandwich bettwen yam) which came with Chinese buns.
The taste of the XO fish head taste good , no difference from my last visit here. My favorite was the claypot loy sui fun, taste was very good and I like the minced pork became crispy due to the heat of the claypot after mixing it up.
The meat dish was tender, literally melts in mouth . The yam went well with it . The whole dish was well marinated and went well with the buns. My only issue was it was a little bit too salty.
The vegetable was nothing special, quite ordinary.
Would I come again, yes but maybe to the other branch which is...
