Homst Kg.Baru (Chinese Muslim Restaurant) — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

We booked for iftar 4 days before, however the booking was lost. Luckily i called earlier on the day to pre order our food..and we still get a table for 12 pax. Just minus 1 star for the reservation management

For 2022, Homst did not have iftar buffet, but they have Ramadhan set instead. Pls order early, the food will be ready by 7-7.10pm just nice for breaking fast.

We ordered the 5pax set RM238 as Kg Baru branch do not have the Tiger Kerapu and soft shell crab that day. Added the flossy butter prawn( 5🌟), Broccoli mushroom , Fu Yong Egg and Garlic Steamed Siakap (4⭐).

My favourite is the steamed nyonya asam fish, and the dessert sea coconut longan.

Do order all your drinks up front as they will not take new orders until all the preorders are completed - just to make sure everyone get to break fast on time.

Improvement points for iftar - can add the azan reminder so that everyone knows it is time. wudhu place is dark, and should have a separate one for ladies. whatsapp reservation so we have a record.

Recommended place for good halal chinese food,...

This has always been my go-to place for halal chinese muslim food cravings. Service is fast and food is well made. My favourites are Beef Fried Rice and Salted Egg Chicken Rice.

Beef Fried Rice has a decent, traditional chinese-style fried rice taste – plain but does not lack flavour. Beef is tender and what surprises me the most is its large portion together with the rice. However, taste-wise, I feel it lacks that wok hei flavour and there's nothing special about the taste. Price is average but best value for its portion.

Salted Egg Chicken Rice on the other hand is just exquisite. The thick creaminess and saltiness of the salted egg gravy coating the fried chicken pair really well. Chicken is tender and portion is decent for one pax. Price is also on the average side.

Despite the above, I think the parking at the back of the restaurant is quite expensive. It would be a lot better if patrons are given a special discount...

We ordered food from this place off of food panda. They sent us the wrong item, so we called them up to ask them to replace the item...which we'd obviously already paid for.

The staff wouldn't cooperate and kept answering the phone and passing it to other staffers. Some pretended not to speak English, while others were audacious enough to suggest we eat whatever was delivered.

They gave us the manager, Mr Ibrahim's number, which we called multiple times. He kept disconnecting the calls. When we finally got through, he started shouting at us and told us he wouldn't be replacing the item. The uncouth person that he is, he told us he'd get our next order right.

How this man became the manager of a restaurant, I can't understand. He sets the worst example for his staff by treating customers with...
