TLDR is probably one of the best hot(pedas, Malaysian mistook spicy as pedas when spicy meant rempah, essential pedas is hot in English because the term pedas refers to food that makes you feel hot or burning when eaten) meal you can get in KL.

Ordered 2 rice sets. First one with squid and the hottest sambal (mantan) that they have out of 5. The second one with chicken and mid level sambal (geprek) which is the 3rd hottest.

Gotta say the sambal is really delicious and hot (again, pedas). The often time if you're looking to get the hottest food you will ended up with just the hotness without the flavor (eg: level 4 ayam gepuk pak gembus, some buldak etc) but this one is a rare gem whereas the sambal mantan is really hot but didn't sacrifice its flavor. You can still enjoy the flavor behind all those heat.

Sambal geprek is probably on par with ayam gepuk pak gembus level 3 or slightly hotter, but definitely more delicious. Recently had a bad experience with that restaurant in particular so have been trying to find the same kind of restaurant.

There are two downside to this place though. First is parking. It does not have dedicated parking space. So you either need to park around the food court across Jalan Raja Muda, or park in the small street a bit further which has a parking lot for Perodua service center.

Second downside would be the restaurant itself being an open air setting with less sittings available. Probably can fit about 20 people at one time. The feel-like temperature can be really high during a hot weather, and heavy rain will definitely make it equally less pleasant due to lack of high walls or window to shelter the customer from the weather. Plenty of fans by just circulating hot air around.

My recommendation is to bring your own milk-based drinkslike yoghurt or something and/or order milk based drink from them (I ordered ExtraJoss Grape with milk for myself), which they don't offer a lot to choose from.

Considering the hot weather during lunch hour, it felt very long to get our order even though it was not busy at all. Maybe psychological, maybe not. Not really sure as I forgot to take note on the ordering time to serving time.

Get ready to sweat even if you can handle your heat as you're getting hot inside out from the food and...

Tried Sambal Bakar Malaya recently and they do offer quite a variety of options on the menu. Got akso or nasi putih and choose from chicken, sotong tepung, tilapia or siakap as your protein. They also have five types of sambal, and I went with the sambal gepuk.

Tastewise, I found the sambal was just okay, leaning more towards the salty side, and unfortunately cannot adjust the spiciness level. The chicken, however, was a good portion, big and juicy, not the dry kind. I think can top up the rice and sambal.

Also ordered the lamb, which came out quite tender and juicy. The marinade was tasty and really to my liking, probably one of the better dishes I tried there.

The bakso came in a big bowl with a few small meatballs and one large chunk. It was quite plain since can’t really choose the type of noodle and it doesn’t come with sambal, so you’ll need to add your own flavouring.

The dining experience overall was mixed. The waiting time was slightly longer, and the dining area felt narrow with tables placed very close together, which made it hard to move around. On top of that, there’s a self service soup station placed right at the entrance, which I felt was a bit inconvenient for people coming in and out.

Parking was also a challenge since there’s no direct parking in front of the shop. As for the service, it was just average, nothing particularly...

Overrated. The cashier was rude. He said there was no change (which I honestly didn’t mind at all—it was just 10 sen—even though I heard coins the moment he opened the cash drawer). I was totally fine with not getting the change. But instead of saying thank you, he said, “Haha, takde baki,”. Uneducated maybe? He looked super selekeh too with sweat dripping down. Cashier duduk depan takkan tak tahu basic jaga penampilan? This is my first and definitely last time here. Makanan pun super plain, nothing special. Better makan nasi ayam top global...

I visited this restaurant based on my friend’s recommendation. I ordered ayam gepuk with sambal, grilled meat, and iced coffee. The ayam gepuk tasted just like authentic Indonesian style — delicious and served hot. The grilled meat was also tasty, though a bit too sweet for my preference. Luckily, it wasn’t crowded when I came, even though it was Saturday night. Would definitely come back again! recommended for those who miss Indonesian food.
