This hotpot restaurant located on the 3rd floor of Midvalley Mall, next to Amarin employs the technique of vegetable/meat selection in the bowl which will be checked and charged at the cashier by weight. The queue management here is bad, staff randomly allocate seating and do not actually follow the queue. The best way is to go select the food first, then find your seating. Don't wait for your seating first. The staff here are generally rude unfortunately, the Chinese female manager and the foreigner at the counter are very rude. The foreigner at the counter even used his bare hands to separate the meats from the vegetable to weight and I found this to be VERY UNHYGIENIC. Please use the food tongs, advice to the management. Luckily, a beeper is given for your food order so you pick up the correct order. The noodle bowl order comes with a plain soup no matter the spiciness order, RM30-35 for a bowl of noodles with veggie and a bit of meat is a disgrace. But, even at the 2nd lowest spice level (spicy fragrant), it was unbearably spicy. The taste of the food is drowned by the mala oil and five spice taste. It was really unpleasant. The soup managed to drown the spiciness a bit. Drinks here are super expensive. RM3 for plain Chinese tea ice is unacceptable. Probably will choose the non spicy option the next time and see whether it tastes better or not.

Honestly, I really think hotpot kitchen Mid Valley branch need to upkeep their quality of food they serve. Understand that the crowd might be out of hand especially during lunch hour, but you shouldn’t compromise on the quality of food you serve. Visited multiple times giving the benefit of doubt, but end up feeling disappointed as usual. Your spicy baby level sometimes tasted overly spicy, and sometimes it’s close to tasteless. Ingredients are either not properly cooked (the texture of veggie was so hard), or overly cooked (soggy noodles). Seriously, where has the standard gone tho? The Velocity branch I went was still fine. Anyways, for mala kaki out there, I’ll recommend XLL Mala Hotpot instead, their taste and food quality have always been up to standard, price is also way cheaper. Personally wouldn’t visit hotpot kitchen ever again especially the branch at mid valley

Frequently come here before, but this time become worse than before, last time order non-spicy given spicy. Today, they even forgot to put some ingredients and fried together. Luckily, I found out, they maintained to serve back the ingredients, but I'm not sure is that all food is ready to mix together, due I didn't took photos for the food that I took. FYI, if you guys like to dine in here, remember before eat, or Paid at counter, took the raw meat or vegetables photos 1st, otherwise no proof if they didn't serve you the ingredients you have paid for. Food taste: Taste is not good, compared previously. Ingredients: What you took might slightly different or giving lesser, sometime they will miss out your ingredients, even rice is not served together, you need to get back counter and ask why my rice is not ready?

First time eating here after trying them in 1u, rather disappointed with the overall experience. Started with choosing veg n meat then proceed to counter.. The lady at the counter ask me for level of spiciness. I was frantically looking for the spiciness chart, the lady rather impatiently pointed at a rather small piece of menu on the cashier table. I chose spicy fragrant and add in 2 vit's noodle plus 1 white rice. When my food came, they forgot my rice, I ask for my rice but the lady reaction was as if I'm trying to cheat them. Even with her mask on can see clearly her dissatisfaction. This wasn't friendly to start off with. Being a cashier at a front desk, her attitude really got problem, maybe admin job suit her more. The food was extremely salty, the vit's noodle was boiled too long before frying, so ended up too lembik (soft). So I ended up soaking the food in the soup provided before consuming.. please improve if you want to stay in business... The 1u outlet never...

I fancy Hotpot Kitchen because it offers a variety of vegetables and meat for my stir-fry dish plus the staff is friendly.

They have renovated the outlet and it seems pretty nice and comfy. The open concept is in line with the current pandemic requirement and follows SOP which is rather comforting in worrying times like this. Come during non peak hours and you will be safe.

Taste... up to you. However, let me warn those who cannot take spicy food- even the least spicy variant can numb not just your tongue but all of you😂😂😂!

Try this... order with NO SPICE. Then have it with the chilli they offer on the side- self service. You can then control your intake according to the strength and heat you can stand.

Ooo... there is complimentary coffee too but at the moment, the dispenser is out of service. Let's see for how long😉

So, for those who have tried this, with extreme spice,...
