TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, OVERPRICED, CUNNING STAFFS. Mind u, my hair is over-shoulder length but still above-chest length. I booked a simple wash & blow dry as I had an event to attend straight after work. Upon arrival, I was actually approached by a Chinese male but a Malay lady suddenly cut him off and assisted me instead.
The towels used are smelly. Smells like wet clothes forced to dry. The smell even stucked to my event dress. The Malay lady tried to be friendly but the way she talked was offensive, and lacked professionalism. I'm so sorry. The lady asked me to add few RM for a higher-quality shampoo, I turned her down. She kept saying my scalp is dry & oily and whatnot. Then I requested for a normal curve blowout. She kept asking me if I wanted a curl blowout. Even after I said no, she kept asking. After she repeatedly asked for about 5-6 times, from her action, I could sense that they'd charge extra for curl so I firmly rejected. At first the lady and another chinese lady used a small hairbrush and my hair got curly-styled so I said I didn't want. They proceeded with a larger brush but the way they pulled my hair was rough. Lack of skills. My hair is stubborn & frizzy but when I got my hair done in other salons, it turned nicely. Here, my hair got frizzy & weighted down within 1 hour. When the lady had done drying my hair, she asked me whether I part my hair left or right. I said "centre". Suddenly she changed to right part, "Tak boleh part centre sebab rambut awak tak ada volume. Tu la degil, even tadi orang dah cakap kena blow curl. LAIN KALI DENGAR CAKAP ORANG". Omg. Lain kali dengar cakap orang??? THE WORST. The staffs were keying-in amount to pay and said "Iron rambut also right".. when I didn't even iron my hair. Finally they charged me RM85 (that price is for Extra Long Hair, clearly written on their price list). So I asked, why do I have to pay for extra long's price when my hair is so short (shoulder-length)? The male staffs when making clueless face. Then one of them said "Oh because your hair length is hard to determine". Doesn't make sense.
If youre looking for a good salon, try to opt to the gardens mall instead. Theres a few and they're great. Some with a much cheaper price, better services,...
Read moreI was a walked in customer who had an interesting experience on my first visit to a cut above MV. First was the lady who washed my hair commented that my hair was very coarse. Thanks for the comment, but my hair is all the while known as fine. It used to be silky, but from dyeing it got a little bit dry, but definitely not coarse. It is no where near the texture of a man's hair either so I was quite taken aback by the unnecessary "very coarse" comment. I know you want to sell your products and earn sales commission so I did not retaliate the comment, but you should really send your staff for customer service/sales training. At least they get to learn not to insult customer for sales.
Also, after when I went back to my seat, I realized the back of my top was wet.
While waiting for my "lost" stylist, I had plenty of time eaves dropping the lady who sat next to me. She had to argue with her stylist on the type of haircut she wants (No kidding, they were loud and it was semi intense). To be honest, the hairstylist was rather rude talking to her in an obvious annoyed tone. The lady was trying to explain the style she wants and the stylist didn't understand and kept condescending the lady's explanation. Even I understood what style she wants, it was the Victoria Beckham Bob. The lady had shoulder length hair and she was saying she wants the back shorter as the front slants longer showing it with hand gestures. How hard can it be to understand that...
After 20 mins wait and a frustrating eavesdropping experience, my stylist finally decided to appear without an apology or a simple thank you for waiting... Not even bothered to introduce himself like as if he is a big shot.
Looks guys, you are in the customer service industry. It wouldn't hurt to brush up on your skills whether you like it or not. If you insist on being so horrible then don't charge so high. At least then people know what standard they...
Read more1/5 Stars - Extremely Disappointing Service I had a terrible experience at this salon that I feel compelled to share. Despite paying premium mall prices, the service was shockingly poor and unprofessional. The hair wash was incredibly rough - it felt more like doing laundry than a salon service. There was no gentle massage or care, just aggressive scrubbing that was uncomfortable and unpleasant. The stylist handled my hair like it was a piece of fabric, with no consideration for my comfort or scalp sensitivity. The situation got worse during the rinse when I was pushed and rushed to sit up, and the scalp handling was so rough it felt like scratching. The blow dry was equally harsh with no attention to technique or customer comfort. What makes this even more frustrating is that I've paid much less at a simple roadside salon and received exceptionally good service with genuine care and attention. For a fraction of the cost, I got professional treatment, gentle handling, and left feeling satisfied. All the fancy lights, expensive decor, and mall location mean absolutely nothing when the actual service is this poor. The shiny exterior and show-off atmosphere don't justify the inflated prices when customers are treated so carelessly. For the upscale prices charged at this mall location, I expected professional, gentle service. Instead, I received treatment that felt careless and almost aggressive. The complete lack of care toward customers is unacceptable, especially at these price points. I will not be returning for any services and cannot recommend this salon to anyone looking for quality hair care. Save your money and find a salon that actually values their customers - you'll get better service elsewhere...
