f you’re a fan of claypot chicken rice, you have to check out Jalan Ipoh’s version — it’s honestly next level. The rice is cooked to absolute perfection, with that amazing smoky, charred bottom that just takes it over the top. Every spoonful has this deep, savory flavor that’s hard to describe but impossible to forget. The chicken is super tender and juicy, and the soy-based sauce just soaks into the rice beautifully.
What really sets it apart is that mouth-watering charred taste — it’s not burnt, just that perfect edge of smokiness that makes you want to keep eating. And don’t even get me started on the side dishes. The salted fish adds that salty punch that balances the dish so well, and the stir-fried greens were super fresh and garlicky. Even the soup they serve on the side is tasty — simple but comforting.
It’s one of those meals where you’re already planning your next visit before you even finish eating. Affordable, quick, and super satisfying. Definitely a hidden gem for comfort food lovers. Come hungry — you...

Read moreUsed to be my eating spot a decade ago. Got to know they have been listed in Michelin guide so wanted to give it a try.
Got a terrible experience as follow:
Firstly, I wanted to order 1 small pot for each person and they refused to serve this way because they claimed it’s troublesome for them. Wow, what a reason from a food stall.
Secondly, there were more than 6-8 empty tables and they insisted us to share table with others as we consist party of 2 only. I understood such practice if it’s full house but it was pretty late lunch and half of the tables were vacant
Thirdly the food wasn’t as nice as before and kimpoh Claypot chicken rice @ Segambut deserves to be in MG list instead of this ‘below average’ stall.
Rice texture was wet and sticky. Chicken was bland, I’d suggest to marinate...
