Updates 24th Oct 2022: Short and simple review here. The food was pretty good. Luckily they still maintained the standard here. However, the price I’m paying does not equal the services I’m getting. Their menu apps very slow. Not enough waitresses to service us. Oh ya price very very expensive now. Imagine a chawa mushi is RM18!

Its a nicely done decor Japanese restaurant. We ordered our food which are the Japanese curry rice, Yaki Niku Don (Beef rice), unagi grilled stick, fried udon etc. The food was pretty good. But the service i gotta give a big F as waitresses can’t follow up our orders. They missed up a couple of dishes, sent our dishes to the wrong table, and furthermore gotta wait for 15mins for a missing dish. So if its too pack or a public holiday I would not recommend here.

Location: Conveniently located in Taman Desa with a grocery market upstairs. Food Quality: You can never go wrong with Japanese food and Koyaku's does not disappoint. Like many Japanese places I review, I judge the quality of the restaurant based on their Agedashi tofu. (9/10) times a good Agedashi tofu means everything else is great as well. Koyaku had great flavours in their udon noodles and overall the quality and tastes of the food was very satisfying. Service: The waiters and waitresses were very attentive and quite helpful. Environment: There is plentiful seating and the restaurant has a very positive, comfortable, and warm vibe. The decor of the restaurant deserves some admiring as well. Interesting fact: My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our dinner date here at Koyaku!

OVERALL: Would definitely recommend and will come again when I'm back in...

This is my 2nd time here. This time is SUPER DISAPPOINTING!!! Last night we went in a group of 7. Made pre booking 8 hours ahead. So many places to sit, but they put us in a small lousy room near the kitchen, its so POORLY done, just 3ply wood as the wall, so ugly! Very very minimal design, poor ventilation, poor sound proofing, with just 1 light bulb, like eating in refugee camp or homeless wooden box under a bridge. Im more angry at the end when i found out they have multiple nicely decorated doraemon sittings at the back which could have allowed us to sit there and dine. They just left them empty with lights all switch on. Can't imagine spent rm 500 on dinner in a 3 ply wood room, not even bothered to paint it. Nonsense. Food, mushroom was overburnt, sashimi was not good yet have the over-confidence of charging rm 70 for a plate. Not worth, not going...

A good Japanese restaurant has to first serve high quality and fresh sushi/shashimi. A platter of sashimi, different slices of fresh fish on a bed of finely cut white radish with seaweed, cheesy scallops, vegetarian soba noodles, grilled fish head for my other half washed down with refreshing green tea. Everything ordered was a visual delight. Chrashi set with 8-10 generous sashimi thick slices on sushi rice that comes with chawan mushi, miso soup and generous slices of cut fruits. The sashimi slices consist of octopus, salmon, tuna and tamago egg - all in generous portions. To top it all our kind waiter and waitress truly know the meaning or good service. Service was excellent. We had really tasty and fresh sashimi and sushi, beautifully presented. Keep this up! CUISINES: Japanese, Sushi, Asian SPECIAL DIETS: Vegetarian Friendly MEALS: Lunch, Dinner

Among the cheapest Gyuniku tataki I have found but taste excellent. They have a variety of menus with the lunch menus being the most worth it especially their sets which I usually have the mini kimchi hotpot which comes with sides, soup and egg custard. Their sushi are also fresh while the skewers are a delight. At times the quality and service can dip though especially during the weekends with a lot of customers. Making bookings are also hard as the staff seldom pick up to make bookings and at times. When its less hectic the experience is generally wonderful so plan ahead. Patrons can be a bit noisy when full. Still the ambiance is nice, the staff try to be as accommodating as they can when not full on busy and the food is nice.
