My first visit during lunchtime was a good one. It was crowded, but we got our seats promptly, and the food didn’t disappoint. Everything was good overall. Value for money, tasty food, and courteous service.

Unfortunately, my most recent visit on 18 May left a sour taste, and I’m not sure if I’ll be back anytime soon.

I arrived around 5.45pm with my family (which included young children and elderly parents) and saw that the restaurant was already full, with a small queue forming outside. No surprise, really as good food usually draws a crowd.

However, by 6.15pm, the queue had barely moved. We asked the staff what the estimated waiting time was, but there seemed to be no clear answer. Eventually, we decided to place a takeaway order, hoping that would be quicker. It wasn’t. We waited at least another 40 minutes just for our food to be ready.

The staff remained polite throughout, but it was clear they were overwhelmed. It didn’t help that there didn’t appear to be any manager on-site to coordinate the situation or manage customer expectations. One particularly disappointing moment was learning, only after we asked, that a group reservation for 10 people at 7pm was the reason several tables had been left vacant for so long. This wasn’t communicated upfront, which left many of us confused and increasingly frustrated as the wait dragged on.

We weren’t the only ones caught in this situation. A number of families and individuals had waited over an hour as well. There were people visibly frustrated, some almost pleading to be let in, others visibly upset. One lady, who had also waited for a long time, said she wasn’t even sure if there would be a next time, after staff suggested making reservations for future visits. That moment really captured how many of us felt.

I appreciate that ample seats were provided outside for those waiting, but it wasn’t exactly a comfortable or calm environment - especially not for the elderly or young children.

I understand that crowds are part of the dining experience at popular places, and I don’t mind waiting. But it’s good customer service to manage expectations with realistic waiting times, or at the very least communicate with patrons in line. A bit of transparency would’ve gone a long way.

I hope management takes this...

Came here on weekday afternoon for lunch. Paid parking lot inside was pretty full, many parked on the side of the road. The atmosphere was nice, air-conditioned with dim lighting. There are limited seats indoor, and a few outdoor seating. Service crew was mainly foreigners, but they were hardworking and doing their best in serving the customers. I saw plenty of the customers were from the neighbourhood, they seemed to be enjoying their food. The lunch menu is a very good deal, the portion wasn’t very small given for its price, and the cuts were generous. The miso soup is slightly on the salty side, but is acceptable. The grilled chicken was surprisingly pretty decent, very tender and not overly salty. The handroll was yummy, soft shell crab is very crispy and no oily taste nor smell. We added on a Temagi, it’s quite an interesting combination, however I don’t think it’s quite worth the price. One thing I would like to improve overall is just the rice, otherwise it’s quite a very tasty meal. Overall, it’s a really good experience dining here. This is an affordable decent Japanese restaurant secluded in the neighbourhood. I am looking forward to trying other dishes...

Good day,

I hope this message finds you well.

I would like to kindly bring to your attention that this restaurant serves pork. As a Muslim around the round, we are prohibited from consuming pork or any non-halal food, and I believe it is important for customers to be made aware of this before entering the premises.

I also noticed that the staff serve Muslim customers without informing them about the nature of the food being served, including the presence of pork. This can lead to misunderstandings and cause discomfort for those of us with dietary restrictions based on our religious beliefs.

Therefore, I would respectfully suggest that the restaurant consider placing a clear and visible sign at the entrance indicating that the restaurant is “Non-Halal.”

This small step would go a long way in helping Muslim customers make informed dining choices and avoid any unintended consumption of non-halal food.

I appreciate your understanding and kind consideration on this matter.

Thank...

A Japanese western eatery serving a variety of fusion cuisine. Menu and prices are quite affordable especially the sets. Food is actually nice and delicious. Unfortunately the staff and service leaves a lot to be desired. The chicken I had the other day was undercooked, when informed to them they did apologise and mentioned they only just open and thus still not ready. They did provide a free dessert as an apology so it’s ok. The second time we came, we were happily eating when their staff kept on bugging us every few minutes to ask if they can clear the table despite seeing we are still eating. This occurred several times even after we told them can they clear only after we pay and leave. The space inside is quite small but nicely decorated but the hard surface and small space makes people talking loudly hard for any conversation when full. All in all they need to improve their staff if they wish to have clientele, which is a shame as the food is generally nice.
