A great place for very good Indonesian/Balinese food. Little Jakarta is a small food shop located within the Pearl Point shopping mall area on the ground floor, in Old Klang Road. They have a sitting capacity of about 40 people, and about 8 tables. The owner is from Indonesia, which means that the taste is quite authentic. There are a few rather good options to choose from including the Nasi Kuning, which is a plate of tumeric spiced rice with fried chicken, egg and condiments. There is also the more well known Ayam Penyet, which is also like a fried chicken with rice. Both are equally as good. They have dishes for fried fish also. When having meals here, you must also eat it with their signature chilly paste, with dark soy sauce. The taste combining all the ingredients and sauce is just amazing and brings back memories of meals had in Bali. When mains are done, you can wash everything down with a very delicious desert of green jelly with coconut milk, an absolute must try. Just simply delicious. This being a small restaurant is an exceptional gem because of lower cost, translating to lower prices. I have eaten in premium Balinese restaurants in the city which cost an arm and a leg, which isn't so much more greater than here. Prices are good and reasonable. Service is generally alright. Unless when there is a crowd, they usually have 2 waitresses only and sometimes may take a bit of time to attend to you. Still, a good place for good food....
Read moreHad dinner here twice, because i really liked the food.
However, after the first time we went to eat there, my husband was almost scammed digitally. He received TAC through SMS and the scammers calling asking to read out the TAC. My husband suspected his data might have been collected from here, because he had to scan a qr code for the menu. Also, he paid using his credit card.
I told him it might have been just a coincidence. Scammers will try to call and scam all the time.
So we went there again for the 2nd time, this time i was the one you ordered by scanning the qr code provided on the table. And i paid by cash. However, not long after the same scam happened to me. I received TAC without requesting, and someone claiming they were from celcom asking me to read out the TAC. Of course i didn't entertain them.
So, we concluded that it might have been something to do with us scanning the qr code menu prepared on the table.
So, beware. Maybe can request for the physical menu there when you want to order food there. And...
Read moreOkay, this is gonna be a long comment so brace yourself. My hometown is two hours away, and I loveeeeeeeeeew udang sambal so much. After moving to KL, I barely eat udang sambal anymore because it’s honestly too expensive and just not worth the price.
BUT THIS SHOPPPPPP. I swear, their food is FINGER LICKING GOOD. I’ve been ordering from this shop for two years now. Nearly every month, I’ll order their udang petai sambal and ayam kremes. Their udang petai sambal set is only RM18, but they give a big portion of rice along with a generous serving of udang sambal petai. And get this — they KOPEK the prawn, SIS!
The prawns are DAMN FRESH. I swear, I cannot emphasize enough how good the food is, for real. The sambal is spicy, flavorful, and addictive in the best way. On top of that, they include keropok, a boiled egg, and timun salad with the set.
All this for only RM18 — like, are you kidding me? It’s so worth it. Please, I’m begging you, try their sambal —...
