My first visit to this restaurant. This Japanese restaurant serve with ala carte buffet menu. Pork Free. Restaurant interior designed are nice, having ground floor and 1st Floor as dining place with some private rooms (i guess probably which reserved for more then 10 persons and above, as we are visited with 7 persons had our table at common area). Atmosphere = Don't expect you are having a formal quiet restaurant to dine, as there are too many customers dining in the restaurant, it is all the chatting noise of customers. Food = choices on 2 pages of menu. Can't say much, as... Example: Tempura got 7 choices (it mean each you order 1 combination to a plate of tempura = 1 plate usually eat from other restaurants). Oden also same... Order each on the ingredient on the menu served in 1 bowl. Most of the choice on the menu it about the same 点餐的方式一样,根据你要几片/几个的数量来点 (鱼片, 虾,青豪, 带子等等) ... Order by how many pieces of prawn, hotate teriyaki that each time you want to eat. Sashimi serve with small and thinly sliced. Other foods are serving with a very SMALL portions, but you can keep repeating order if you wanted too. Personally would recommend the Squid butteryaki, Beef butteryaki, Salmon butteryaki, Salmon Teriyaki (item no. 72, 73, 76, 77) - eat during it hot, the meat is tender and juicy texture is soft and not hard; deep fried squid Tentacles (item 83). Seasoned jellyfish, seasoned baby octopus (item no. 53, 54) this are nice too. (not recommend - Seafood fried noodle, the Soba noodle It tastes too soft and dense (面烫的太久/ 熟,变得绵密; 口感一点都不好)) Desert = brownie (with vanilla ice cream), brownies are hard, with icre cream (luckily is just 2 bites of portions 😂) and other flavours of ice cream are just so so... (beside of sesame flavor, fragrant sesame seeds and greentea flavor also ok) For other... Taste overall are consider fresh and ok ok (not to say super best taste). As we visit with 7persons, lots of food we order double up the volume (2 servings each of the food-so that everyone of us tasted /tried) and we did repeated some of the foods too. Drink = self service from the drinks section. Serving carbohydrates drinks, coffee tea, water... Service = staff around us... Probably in charges for few tables around my seating area are attentive and friendly and also recommended some dishes for us. If you can eat more (quantity), still can say worth it (RM100 per person) ; above 55 year old having - 20% discount. Restaurant are charging 16% tax charges. There is no limitations of the dining times (we booked 7pm, we was there earlier 6.20pm and we are allowed to seated and start to order, can eat till their last call at 9pm, Close at 10pm) Very difficult to find parking lot, better to be...

It was my first time dining at this japanese restaurant and I absolutely love it. Before I begin, the price is rm94 after a 16% charges.

You can already feel the japanese vibe once you stepped into the restaurant. The interior design was very nice.

As soon as we were led to our table, the ordering spree began. Surprisingly, as we were still on the ordering process, our first order has arrived. The staff was really efficient. I'm impressed with the amount of varieties on the menu. I'm sure nobody has ever ordered everything on the menu before, but to be able to choose from so many things from the menu, it's very satisfying. The serving speed is superb, no intentional delay in serving the food (I have been to a few a la carte buffet which purposely slows down the serving of meat products to hold you back from eating those more pricey food).

The salmon fish and butterfish sashimi were my favourite. Fresh and buttery, almost melt in the mouth quality. The grilled half shell scallop was an absolute delight of the group. The sauce was savory and had a tinge of burnt charry smell. It was great. Scallops were fresh too. One way to enhance the taste is to squeeze some lemon on it. My friend had done that and I totally agreed with her.

Last but not least, a special mention to Jason who waited at our table. (Disclaimer: I am in no way related to Jason). He is an interactive and attentive person. He gave very good response while interacting with us. Being quick on his feet to attend to all his customers, he also checked on us once awhile making sure that we were enjoying our meal. There were a few other staffs who took our order once in a while too and they were equally good. Sorry I didn't get most of their names, mainly because Jason was sort of 'in charge' of the tables that I am seated in. He did leave a good impression too.

Lastly, I highly recommend the green tea and black sesame ice cream. One of the best ice cream I have had in a buffet so far. The green tea ice cream has a nice soothing bitter taste, and a mild sweet aftertaste. The black sesame was so aromatic and creamy.

Parking is limited in a narrow space.

Overall, it was a very pleasant dining experience. A solid 9.5/10 for the food, service and ambience. I will revisit.

PS: Please consider opening a branch...

Sharing my experience as feedback, no hard feelings and I hope my review will provide insight on areas of improvement at this establishment.

Have always been a fan of Mitasu, and have been a regular patron at their bukit bintang branch since my uni days.

Decided to celebrate mother's day at bukit bintang and decided to make a reservation, 6 weeks in advance to ensure that i get a decent seat.

The overall reservation process was smooth and everything was set for mother's day.

I was excited to celebrate mother's day at their new establishment, however that excitement was quickly dashed when they showed us to our table. Despite having made a reservation 6 weeks in advance, we were seated right next to their disposal tray (tray where they dispose of rubbish and used utensils).

My family and I was obviously not very happy with this arrangement and when we requested for assistance from the floor staff regarding this issue, they initially insisted that there was nothing they could do (kinda fely like they were telling me to take it or leave it, not exactly what I would call customer service, would recommend that particular staff to rethink his career path and perhaps pursue a different industry). Thankfully that issue was resolved, after I escalated the issue and gave them an ultimatum, 1 they either moved the tray they used to dispose of things somewhere else or they need to give us another table, a senior floor staff saw the commotion and acted quickly to move the disposal tray and cleaned that area up.

To highlight my experience at their old Klang road branch

Positive food standards are as good as I remember them to be they were really quick and efficient in delivering some of the dishes

Cons the horrible seating experience me and my family experienced for the dishes they are not quick and efficient with, we had to follow up 3-4 times before they arrive

Overall I would give them 3 stars, food is good as always but their customer service leaves a lot to be...

Mitasu Japanese Restaurant – Group Dining Experience We visited Mitasu Japanese Restaurant for their all-you-can-eat Japanese food package, priced at around RM95+ per person. While the food was generally satisfying, our overall experience was marred by the poor group seating arrangement and inefficient ordering system. We made an advance booking for over 60 pax, but surprisingly, the restaurant could not accommodate us on the same floor. Instead, we were split between the ground floor and first floor, despite having paid in full. According to the person in charge, only groups of 90 pax or more are allowed to book an entire floor. This explanation was frustrating—if the venue can accommodate 90 people on one floor, why can't they seat 60 together? It felt like poor planning and left a bad impression. As for the dining format, it’s not a buffet where you help yourself. Instead, you place orders through the waitstaff using a digital pad. This system was quite clunky—sometimes our orders were duplicated (likely due to accidental double taps), and other times, items seemed to be missed entirely. Thankfully, our group managed to finish everything that was brought to the table. Drinks are self-service, which is fine. However, to improve the experience, implementing a QR code ordering system would be much more efficient. It would allow diners to reorder at their own pace without having to search for waitstaff—especially important given the strict 2-hour dining limit. Much of our time was wasted waiting for food to be served. Summary: ✅ Food quality: Decent and value for money ❌ Group seating: Poorly arranged despite advance booking ❌ Ordering system: Inefficient and prone to errors ⚠️ Suggestion: QR code ordering would significantly improve the experience We hope Mitasu can improve its group management and ordering process for a smoother dining experience.
