Been eating the original ipoh garden bibi popiah longer than even their worker's adult age. 1stly, they didn't even bother to cut the popiah. Refer the picture. The crunchiness was missing. It was mostly soggy, like eating chee cheong fun. This taste like the Crispy Popiah franchise tbh. It isn't the same taste from the Ipoh Garden's Gourmet square. If they wanna bring the original hawker stall flavor KL, I rather you buy from Crispy Popiah, at least they cut it for you. At 6.50 for one, that's too much for a subpar soggy ccf-like popiah. Won't be repeating. Also suggest you to skip it.

Taste acceptable but slight different from other popiah that I ever tried. The skin was way too chewy & thick, it didn’t wrap tightly and the ingredient scattered, so messy. The signature popiah one roll darker in colour and one roll lighter in colour, seems like sauce not standardize in each roll. And the seaweed popiah they didn’t cut it for me, first time received full roll of popiah without cutting. I was so surprised that the sengkuang is in cube shape instead of slicing, which affect the taste and texture of popiah a lot.

Random buy while walking about the mall. Takeaway only. Friendly service. A bit pricey but expected since in a mall. Ordered their original & seaweed. Freshly made. Good packaging. Well made popiah with a generous amount of ingredients. Make sure you get it spicy as that what makes it yummy. Would be rather one dimensional otherwise. The seaweed version added a nice flavor kick as well. Overall an okay snack. Average at best. Doubt will get again though.

I just bought a box of popiah from the Mid Valley outlet and had a very unpleasant and potentially dangerous experience. While eating, I suddenly felt something sharp against my tongue – it turned out to be a piece of unprocessed shrimp shell. It was stiff and sharp enough that if a child or someone not careful bit into it, it could have easily caused a cut or even internal injury.

This raises serious questions about the food safety and preparation process. Was the shrimp even cleaned or processed properly? Shrimp shells should never make it into a dish like popiah where everything is finely chopped and meant to be soft and easy to chew.

Luckily, I noticed it early with my tongue and avoided injury – but had I swallowed it unknowingly, the outcome could have been much worse. This is not just a matter of poor quality – it’s a health hazard.

I hope the management takes this seriously and reviews their preparation process immediately, especially if they want to keep families and children as customers. Until then, I will avoid this outlet and caution others to be...
