Tried 1Nasi lemak - soft, fluffy and very fragrant with santan . Good Sambal - Sambal is not too sweet and slightly on the spicy side. Sambal looks like it has been cooked for a long while and therefore,,the thick dark red colour and the oil. I like! Ayam goreng berempah- not a fan of ayam goreng but the ayam goreng here is tender and richly coated with spices . Another winner 4 sambal sotong- a bit diluted and i think the sambal was a bit burnt. The sambal sotong too is not too sweet 5 paru goreng- for someone who does not take innards, i think the paru’s great . Couldn’t taste the gameyness of the paru as it was deep fried and then coated with sambal. 6 kangkung - the kangkung failed miserably . It was limp and soggy . I was hoping for crunchy kangkung to go with the sambal. It was a letdown 7 Service - not very friendly staff . From the ones who served to the cashier. It will not cost you anything...
Read moreI had an amazing experience here! The Nasi Lemak is absolutely perfect—fragrant coconut rice, a sambal that balances sweetness and spiciness beautifully, and all the classic sides that make it authentic and delicious. The highlight for me was the ayam goreng (fried chicken). It's simply too good—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor.
Even though there was a long queue, the service was impressively fast, so you don’t have to wait long to enjoy your meal. They clearly know how to manage the crowd without compromising on quality.
The drinks here are also fantastic! I highly recommend trying the teh ais, which is smooth and refreshing, and the bandung, a sweet and creamy delight. Both pair wonderfully with the meal and make the whole experience even more satisfying.
If you’re looking for a place with amazing food, efficient service, and great drinks, this is it! I’ll definitely...
Read moreNasi Lemak Burung Hantu is currently a popular spot in town, with plenty of food bloggers and tourists raving about it. I decided to check it out. The restaurant operates on a self-service basis, where you line up to place your order and pick up your food yourself.
Seating is limited at this branch, so it’s best to secure a table before ordering, or you might end up waiting a while with your nasi lemak in hand.
Their signature dish is the nasi lemak with ayam goreng berempah. I loved the sambal—it’s spicy with a hint of sweetness. However, the ayam goreng berempah was a bit disappointing; it was served cold, and the flavor hadn’t fully absorbed into the chicken, possibly due to insufficient marination. The rice also lacked the rich taste of coconut milk. On the other hand, I was pleasantly surprised by their Teh Tarik—one of the best I’ve had.
Overall, try to come early to find parking and...
