**Food: A Spotlight on Sambal** The culinary offerings at this restaurant hover slightly above average, with the standout being the sambal. This dish alone manages to elevate the meal, showcasing a depth of flavor that suggests a potential for greatness. Unfortunately, the rest of the menu doesn't quite reach the same heights, offering tastes that are merely average. While not necessarily bad, the other dishes fail to impress or leave a lasting impression. **Ordering System: A Major Letdown** The ordering system is where this restaurant truly falters. It might be one of the worst systems in existence. The process is disorganized and confusing, with little to no guidance provided to customers. The floor manager seems to be ineffective in managing the growing queues, leading to significant frustration among patrons. There is a lack of proper communication regarding the ordering protocol, leaving many customers bewildered. Some guests queue to put down their names for a table, while others stand in line to order food, only to be told after nearly an hour of waiting that they need a table first. This chaotic system severely detracts from the dining experience. **Customer Experience: A Nightmare** The overall customer experience can only be described as a nightmare. The restaurant is in dire need of significant improvements, especially since it actively solicits food reviews. The current state of affairs suggests a lack of consideration for customer satisfaction, which is unacceptable in a competitive dining environment. **Staff: In Need of Training** The staff appears ill-equipped to handle the customer flow efficiently. Proper training is essential to ensure they can manage the ordering process and improve overall service. Their inability to provide clear instructions and manage the crowd exacerbates the already poor dining experience. **Conclusion: Below Expectations** In conclusion, the overall experience at this restaurant falls well below expectations. Despite the promise shown by the sambal, major improvements are required across the board. From the chaotic ordering system to the underwhelming customer experience and inadequately trained staff, there's much to be done to bring this restaurant up to par. Until these issues are addressed, potential diners might want to consider other options.

Heard so much about this place & pass by countless times. The crowd never cease to exist or mainly because I usually pass by on a Friday night. From a few shop lot away ull be able to smell the aroma of the food. It made my stomach growl and 🥹🥹🥹 so happy. 1. As there is lots of people there is a guy who takes down the no of pax & your name. 2. Hang around and they will call your name & you will be given a table. 3. Do note for those who come in a pair of just two..go check out the food selection first so you can tell your buddy what you would want to have as someone has to sit on the table while the other goes and line up for the food. The staff is really helpful , friendly and efficient !! 4. The first section will be the nasi lemak & if you want chicken they will serve it together 5. Then as you walk down the line there will be other lauk that you can add on. A variety of kerang, sotong, tempeh, bedegil, etc. I was there at about 8pm but rendang and other meat were sold out from the lauk section hence didn’t get to try it - Sambal Kerang : RM 5.50 this was abit spicy for me but I think those who can makan chili as it is will do fine. Taste 👌🏻 - Sambal Sotong : RM 6.00 this was quite generous portion and was 👌🏻 - Tempeh 2 pcs : RM 4 as for this it says 2 piece but it came with more but it was not good. It was very soggy ish 🥲 this was disappointing cause tempeh is my favourite 🥹 - Begedil 2 pcs : RM 4 interesting 🫣 my first time trying it’s pretty nice ish ..I’ve never tried this dish before so not so sure but it’s soft :) - Nasi Lemak Basmati Ayam Rempah : RM 12.50 this I got to say it’s a pretty mix feeling cause the moment I had the first bite it felt good , in my mind I was thinking 🤔 got to bring my family here but after couple of bites the rice somehow feels blend not umami 🫠 the chicken look so yummy I was thinking 1 really ain’t gonna cut it but lining up for a second one seems too much trouble ..the chicken meat was a bit dry so well a little glad I have only one n didn’t attempt to get another Feeling 50/50 over the food. It feels lacking but presentation and the smell 🥹 so I’m torn if I should try it again or not but it wasn’t really up to expectation from what I saw and smell 😅 Before devouring - stomach growling n salivating After eating - feeling meh 🫤

I was in KL for meetings and, as a big fan of nasi lemak, I couldn’t resist trying out this place—after all, nasi lemak is the national dish and one of my all-time favorites! My luck was off the charts that day as I managed to snag a parking spot just a few steps from the restaurant. Turns out, this branch was their very first outlet! I wouldn’t have known if the friendly restaurant manager hadn’t shared that little nugget with me. Now, onto the food. The coconut aroma in the rice was there, but just a bit too subtle for my liking—could definitely use a boost. The chicken, though, was a hit—perfectly marinated and juicy. The fried egg was well done, though I would’ve preferred it sunny side up if given the option. The cucumber, anchovies, and peanuts were fresh and crispy, and the sambal... let’s just say it brought the heat! I also went for an extra serving of beef rendang, which was absolutely spot-on. The flavors and spice level were on point—a must-try if you're there. For a standard plate of nasi lemak, it costs RM15.40, and with the additional beef rendang at RM10.50, the total adds up to RM25.90 before tax. As for service, despite the crowd, the restaurant was well-managed. The place was buzzing, and the manager kept things orderly with a first-come, first-served queue system. The canteen-style ordering is a nice touch, though it did cause a bit of confusion among the servers when some patrons ordered multiple plates and others just one. The atmosphere? Clean, tidy, and organized. While the restaurant isn’t air-conditioned, I still found it comfortable, especially since I was seated outside. Tables were cleared promptly, and even though I was outdoors, there wasn’t a fly in sight—kudos to the store manager for maintaining such high hygiene standards! I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in the area.

There was a deal whereby you give them a 5 star review and they will gift you a complimentary Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah completely for free which was a pleasant surprise at first (currently ongoing as this review is written). Unfortunately, this happy surprise was overshadowed by their below mediocre food.

The rice did not taste like nasi lemak and more like plain ol nasi kukus. The chicken was almost meatless, dry, cold and very flat. The sambal which shouldve been the highlight of the whole meal didnt do the brand any justice as it was just sweet and nothing more, not even a sliver of spiciness can be noticed although my partner did say it was just spicy besides completely tasteless. The condiments; ikan bilis, fried nuts and egg couldnt save the dish from its surprisingly bland nature. We ordered the paru berlada and as expected it tastes like cold tasteless rubber.

We had high hopes for Nasi Lemak Burung Hantu but was left extremely dissapointed with their offerings. Granted the nasi lemak we had was complimentary as we were made to give the place a 5 star review even before eating, but we came as paying customers and wouldve appreciated more acceptable food what with the major hype that came with the brand which is now evidently just misguided hype. To add salt to injury, when ordering we saw sayur kangkung included in the counter and asked for those when the staff blatantly ignored us with a straight face. And when we asked again he just threw the kangkung onto our plates with a sour expression without even verbally answering us if it is even allowed to be added into our nasi lemak (?) which we now assumed no after that harrowing show of service.

So keep your kangkung to yourselves while we take back our premature and baseless early 5 star review and post this rightfully written and honest review of our experience dining at Nasi Lemak Burung Hantu TTDI branch.

Hopefully all the other 5 star reviews for this branch wasnt encouraged by their free nasi lemak for stars deal or else this page is just full of baloney.

PSA , since youre already in the area, just scurry over to Village Park Nasi Lemak where you can get honest to god food without all...
