Nasi Lemak Peel Road — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

I have always known of this famous Chinese nasi lemak stall and I finally got the chance to try it out. First off let's address the parking situation here. I came on a weekday dinner hours and I was lucky enough to get a parking space when I arrived but I am certain that under usual circumstances, getting a parking here will be a daunting feat. I was met with a little queue as I walked towards their shop. I got a plate with their curry chicken, cabbage and luncheon meat. I got the sambal chicken for the other plate of rice. The rice was fluffy with that unmistakable rich taste from the santan but the aroma was lacking in my opinion. I was amazed with the curry chicken as the spices and aromatics nicely hits all the sweet spot when it comes to a Chinese style curry. The chicken meat was tender and flavorful. The cabbage was a good addition for that lovely crunch. Now let's talk about their brand of sambal. I personally felt that it was decent overall. Lovers of sweet sambal will be delighted and the texture didn't disappoint either. The aromatics were also decent enough. The sambal chicken also packed a flavorful punch. The chicken was deep fried before cooked with the sambal so that lent to a combination of texture. Both plates came with what seemed to be crushed ikan bilis instead of the usual ones. I feel that overall the taste of the nasi lemak here was pretty good if you crave for the Chinese...

Giving only 3stars on the account that their kambing curry are always sold out each time we were there ( usually 7.30 pm) this is Chinese styled nasi lemak and not the malay versions. Was later informed that their kambing curry is usually sold out by 5! Was also told that next time we can place a reservation for their kambing curry in advance to ensure we get to eat it! Their dishes offered are, fried chicken, curry chicken, curry merah chicken, eggs ikan bilis, peanuts. Veggies, half boil eggs & sotong . Though limited in numbers, your plate should be fully loaded by the time you take Yr seats. Other drinks and simple Chinese desserts are offered as well They've a much better place indoor compared to previously, outdoor it's a step up for them with proper seats and tables. Price wise they're average/ par in KL/ selangor.
