Only RM38 nett for a pizza buffet? Yes, that's right, and these are among the best I've had!
When I first arrived, I noticed it had a quaint, warmly-lit interior, and right beside it was a space with several tables on fake grass that seemed to have an outdoor environment thanks to the sunlight beaming down through the glass roof, giving the area a nice outdoor vibe.
After I was seated, the staff confirmed with me whether I'm having the buffet or a la carte, and then I was asked if I wanted iced lemon tea or iced peach tea since these are the only two drinks available for the buffet. I started with the iced peach tea. Then I was given a paper slip with a QR code to order from.
I started with the homemade mushroom soup with garlic bread, and it's phenomenal. Instead of the creamy fare you get at certain pizza chains, the mushroom soup was very chunky with a rustic taste. The garlic bread was also similarly unique and left quite a good impression on me.
Next, I had the 5 Cheese (white pizza; no tomato sauce) and the Margherita Con Bufala (red pizza; with tomato sauce). I love the taste of the gorgonzola, an Italian blue cheese. The buffalo mozzarella was also quite distinct in terms of its flavour and texture within the context of the Margherita. Both were excellent.
Then, I ordered the Mac & Cheese Original with Smoked Duck. It was fine.
Lastly, I ended with a Tartufata (white pizza) and a Diavola (red pizza). The Tartufata had truffles, and it had a lighter flavour profile compared to the 5 Cheese, but it's also very enjoyable to me. The Diavola was supposed to use spicy beef salami, so I was surprised to see cili padi on the pizza, but it was nonetheless quite delicious too.
Overall I'd say RM38 is very worth it for this buffet, but if you want to maximise your variety, come in a...
Read moreIt's been a very long time since I've enjoyed eating pizza. Some places in KL do offer great and tasty Pizzas but I've never really enjoyed eating it, until I discovered this place.
My favorite about this place, the Pinsa Romana crust which means Roman Pizza. Not your fancy sourdough but made with a blend of flours, including Italian 00 flour creates a wonderful texture which is crispy, crunchy, yet fluffy and tender. Extremely well made and still stays crispy up till the next day. I'd still recommended to eat them fresh though. This style of pizza differs from the other Italian pizza which is the Neopolitan.
I love the minimalist pizzas offered here, which are the Foccacia and the Margherita, both with Pinsa Romana crust. As these pizzas have the simplest of toppings, the quality of the crust and ingredients shine through. The simpler the pizza, the easier it is to discover flaws. From my multiple weeks and times ordering, aside from the very slight chlorine aftertaste which is isn't present in every order, the pizzas are always great if not excellent. Flavours are perfectly balanced. That is why I once had pizzas from here delivered for lunch for 3 consecutive days.
Extra cheese? Pfft!! With the quality of pizzas offered here, you will won't need requests like this. Less is more anyways. Take a slice and you'll see, you might even ask for seconds. Now time for me to take a bite out of my slice of Pinsa Romana Margherita....
