A unique restaurant that serves pancakes and toasts without butters and charges RM3.55 for it
We were regulars at the old Rubberduck and happy with the food and services there, but this rebranded "quack" is a total joke. We ordered pancakes for breakfast, that says it comes with butter on the menu, but there was no butter served with the pancake when we got the food. When I asked for the butter, they said it's an add on and would cost me RM3.55 (seriously? Even McDonald's serve their pancakes with butter). I paid for it anyway, but to my surprise, the RM3.55 receipt for the butter that's supposed to come for free with the pancakes, shows "extra onions" as the item, not butter. So the butter add-on was not even in the system. I then asked for a refund for the butter add-on because the receipt doesn't reflect the food i oredered.
To the restaurant owners or managers, please take it as a feedback and consider including butters to your pancakes and toasts. Like seriously, butters are supposed to be basic things served with pancakes and toasts. What was on your mind when you decided to charge butter as an add on for these food? Also if you're not going to serve butter with your pancakes, please at least remove it from the menu and clearly include butter as one of your...
ย ย ย Read moreCame here for a quick lunch ordered some fruit bowls and a roast chicken leg. The coffee is nothing spectacular although it's not terrible either. Fantastic atmosphere and lovely decor paired with really friendly service and hospitality is what really brings this place to the foreground of cafe scenes here. The fruit bowls are inconsistent, sometimes being watery or chunky with small ice. Portioning could also be a little more generous but at the same time, may be enough for small eaters. The chicken was a little dry even for a leg, which made it easier to take in. I can't imagine if it was a breast cut. The spicing and seasoning on the chicken and the mash that it comes with is pretty good and flavourful, which unfortunately made the sauce which essentially tasted like a reduction of the juices and the spices that the chicken was roasted with redundant. Perhaps a little lighter in the spices and bring in the sauce or just skimp out on the sauce totally, having both this time around made it way too...
ย ย ย Read moreWe had lunch at Quack today. It was quite busy, so initially, they sat us in a tight corner. Then they offered us a bigger table when somebody left. The laminated menus are very tatty, splitting, and dog-eared. I ordered Buttermilk pancakes, but then, when looking on Google, I saw a photo of a Sunshine Smoothie Granola bowl. I quickly cancelled my order and asked to change to the Sunshine Granola bowl, which strangely is hidden/listed under Smoothies on the Drinks side of the menu. Go figure! The omelette that I had ordered for my friend never came as apparently the order taker missed that when I originally placed our order. They quickly gave us 2 complimentary snacks while they prepared the omelette, which was a nice gesture and appreciated. The Apple pie looked very appetising and was 'inak sekali'. Despite the hidden Granola bowls, tatty menus, and omitted order; I would go back to Quack as the food...
