Antee — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

I guessed people come here for the laidback ambience. Tables are laid out spaciously and there’s alfresco as well as indoor air conditioned dining. While the food menu was extensive, our experience here tell us the kitchen is probably very short handed as our food took a long time to arrived. We ordered the pumpkin soup, Thai fried bee hoon, ginger soup, cream of cauliflower soup & a grilled chicken carbonara spaghetti. Guess which item came first ? It was the Thai fried bee hoon ! Which by the way didn’t taste anything Thai ….. it wasn’t exactly spicy and there were two medium sized shrimps and a couple of squid rings. No complaints though considering the price at Rm12.90 is reasonable and the taste is ok. The ginger soup was the next to arrived. My wife commented that the soup lacked ginger and wine taste. Then came the grilled chicken carbonara spaghetti which my daughter rated a 4/5 but took a long time to arrived. Lastly the item that we expect to arrive first actually came last - the cream of cauliflower soup. My daughter rated it a 3/5 and found it slightly on the salty side. I actually don’t mind coming back to try other dishes but if the serving time takes long again then perhaps I may think twice. The environment is quite comfy. Service also fine. A friend who’s vegetarian suggested to dine at this restaurant. Apparently, every time he’s here, the air condition units are always ‘NOT WORKING’ according to the staff members. The dining areas both in and out are oven hot. Not impressed nor is it comfortable to dine. Because of my friend, I relented and stayed for dinner.

The Chicken rendang Nasi lemak is so-so. The eggplant is delicious and the steamed egg with century eggs is acceptable. I think we would have enjoyed and ordered more dishes if it wasn’t so damn hot and humid. The owner/s should stop playing the AC is ‘not working’ card and get more business in.
