Food here is a hit or miss, quality not great - like bar food made by untrained young people. Ordered the lamb shank, was horrible. Meat was sour and worst it was frozen burned, dry, so didn't finish it. Sauce was way too salty and thick, mashed potatoes was dry and crumbly, felt like such a waste of money.
Their staff - NOT properly trained nor up to standard. We were a table of two and ordered appetizers to share they came and gave us one plate. We had to keep waving for service and asking for things when they had quite alot of staff but they all group together in an area and most inattentive.
After we finished our appetizers, they cleared our all utensils. There was a long wait period, which if they were smart enough, they could of setup for next course - such as the steak knife, or gave us a new set of utensils.
Main course was served, we ended up needing to wait another 5 to 10 mins staring at our food waiting for then to bring our utensils.. so much wasted time.
Worst was when the waiter brought the steak knife over, he didn't put it on the table, he handed it over pointing the knife part at my husband giving it to him, looked like he was robbing someone with a knife. Total hazard. Train your staff.
So you get an idea of the quality of the place.
Other than that, with the prices they charge and the quality of service, inconsistent low quality food, there's way better choices. If you are drink environment, suggest the Sphere instead or it's just ok for drinks here outdoors.
The only thing that tasted ok was the beef satays, garlic veggies that came with the steak. Hostess was friendly and had a great smile, that's it.
3 dishes our bill came to over RM 200, no drinks just bottled water. Not happy with the quality of food and service, money would of felt better spent elsewhere.
We live upstairs and remembered why we keep trying this place once a year roughly, and don't come back. We have high hopes it could change, but...
Read moreThe Nachos Entree was disappointing, the cheese & Jalapeno topping was only ½ what it should have been, though the sour cream was adequate.
My Lamb Shank and it's veg & gravey were delicious, except for the mash potato which was one of the worst (bland flavour and terrible texture) I've ever tried so didn't eat it.
My Son's Australian Loin steak, while making very slow progress he asked, "is it meant to be cold like this", the centre of the medium-rare steak was RAW and cold. I'm guessing they hadn't thawed from frozen properly before cooking. They only wanted to give 10% discount & free dessert, it took some arguing but eventually they replaced the steak with a properly cooked one. I hadn't noticed when it was delivered to my son but The original steak was also only ⅓-½ the size of the steak in the menu photo, after mentioning this the replacement was close to the photo. My partner's Fish & Chips was fine.
The drinks menue was terribly confusing, my partner accidently ordered AsamBoi (common Malaysian soft drink) which was actually a Mojito version with Rum. The drinks description don't mention the alcohol/rum Rather the mojito/rum details were Elsewhere buried in a general description covering the several drinks on that page. In Malaysia, Usually anything with alcohol is VERY clearly identified To avoid being ordered by a Muslim.
The servers were generally friendly and helpful, but their English was nearly impossible to understand, which is unusually for a higher end Western-fusion restaurant...
Read moreThis restaurant has plenty of options of food to choose from, although mostly western, such as pizza, pastas and so on. They also have loudspeakers playing ABBA on replay on full blast. I didn't mind that but dang, it was loud (not sure if they have other song artists on their playlist on other days). But then again, SOULed out is partly a bar. Yes, SOULed has also a large range of drinks, specifically, alcohols. The staff was also very friendly and somewhat helpful. But one downside to the restaurant is that they don't have free water. They only have mineral water that comes in a small bottle (RM1) and a large bottle (RM3).
Quality: I had the Beef Spaghetti or so called "Beef Ragout" which was delicious. However, the price it came at, I didn't think it was worth RM 23. But then again, that's just how Malaysia works now; inflation and all that.
Quantity: Again, comparing the Beef Ragout with other places. It's enough for one person and be full after that due to the cheese and other stuff inside. I didn't really see much beef inside honestly but, overall nice to eat.
TLDR: SOULed out is part bar and part restaurant which plays ABBA frequently. They have delicious spaghetti which is somewhat expensive and it's enough for one...
