Our culinary adventure at the Surawon outlet in PV128 today was quite the experience! The Korea barbecue there beckoned us with promises of delicious variety and reasonable prices. We eagerly delved into the menu, ordering round after round of succulent pork belly, tender pork neck, flavorful marinated chicken, and even some adventurous baby octopus. Each bite was a testament to the rich, savory flavors that Korean barbecue is known for.

The side dishes were a delightful surprise, offering a spread of classic Korean fare: spicy kimchi, crisp vegetables, buttery potatoes, crunchy bean sprouts, and those irresistible, fluffy Korean pancakes that we couldn't get enough of. And just when we thought we couldn't possibly eat another bite, we indulged in the sweet, refreshing treats of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry desserts.

However, the experience wasn't without its hitches. The service, while friendly, was a bit slow, leaving us waiting longer than we'd like. The restaurant's ambiance was also a challenge, with the barbecue grills making the environment hot and somewhat stuffy.

Overall, despite these minor inconveniences, our dinner was satisfying. The variety and quality of the food were impressive, and it's clear that with some improvements in service and ventilation, Surawon could be an even more enjoyable dining...

Except for the salad bar where a lot of the side dishes are cold and sometimes frozen, the cooked food here is not actually bad tasting. The price is also cheap. For 3 adult buffet total we paid was RM105.

The real problem with this place is its horribly maintained and doesn't practice hygienic standards. The restaurant was already smokey when we entered from previous customers' cooking. Then you can feel the oily grease everywhere. On the floor, on the table, on the cutlery, on the seats. And at the end of our meal, on my footwear. This in no doubt due to the non-existent ventilation system which is broken and looks like it hasn't been maintained in a long time. They merely provide electric fans to blow the smoke elsewhere in the restaurant. New plates don't look like they've been cleaned properly and I must say the restaurant looks understaffed. One person was serving the whole front of the restaurant. Poor guy. Mold was also growing on the spoons they put in the sauce bowls.

Honestly, you might as well have eaten street food. To the owner, if you can't run your restaurant properly with proper hygiene,...

Was craving for a good, but also reasonably priced Korean BBQ spot, and decided to give Surawon a try after seeing the boatload of positive reviews from others.

Was NOT a disappointment in the slightest, worth the trip all the way from central KL.

I opted for the (before 3PM) RM35 (before taxes) buffet deal.

The 사장님 is polite, and took my order promptly. The 삼겹살, 목살 and 쭈꾸미 arrived the fastest. God, were the portions generous. Not to mention, there was NO skimping in the quality in the slightest. The octopus was super chewy, and was the most memorable (to me).

The 반찬, lettuce, 떡볶이, and accompanying BBQ sauces are all self-serve. Tasted fresh. The 계란찜 was pretty springy, can never go wrong with steamed eggs.

The 사장님 kept coming back to my table to remind me that the dishes were refillable, honestly thought was a cute quip, much appreciated!

Overall, super super worth it. DEFINITELY bringing my family and friends here. Would be even more enjoyable to dine with company of...

This Korean BBQ spot is a fantastic find—super worth the money! For an affordable price, you get unlimited refills on 7 meat options (pork, chicken, and squid), plus 9 different side dishes and 6 kinds of BBQ sauce. They also serve classic dishes like spicy rice cakes, steamed egg, kimchi soup, japchae, kimchi fried rice, and rice cake soup. Parking is cheap, and they provide free water, although they only sell beer (no soju or rice wine, unfortunately). The place is packed, and while they’re a bit short-staffed, the friendly team makes up for it. With the price you pay, a little self-service is no issue. As with any BBQ place, expect a bit of smokiness, but it’s all part of the experience. Highly recommended for a delicious, budget-friendly Korean BBQ night!
