Take a bow has newly launched their dinner menu and I can’t wait to share with y’all how it went!!! Firstly, they serve pies for dinner now 😍😍 All pies are handmade and freshly baked upon order 🙈 They have so many varieties to choose from such as hot chick, mozzarella beef, black pepper lamb, chicken & mushroom etc. I decided to try the fish pie as it’s different from the other pies. Most pies normally come with a nice thick flaky pastry crust as the outer layer, but for a fish pie, it’s just mashed potatoes with plenty of salmon chunks 😍😍 And boy oh boy, their pie was so comforting and it was wholsome; in fact this was the highlight of my meal 🤩 This is an opulent, unctuous meal designed to fill your senses (and your stomach) and get your day off to an auspicious start. They were also very very genorous with their fresh salmon cubes! Each scoop of my pie had a huge chunk of salmon flesh 🐟❤️ Sounds fishy but it’s true 😍
Their dinner menu is available from 6pm - 10pm and there’s plenty of options. I also tried the Mackerel Carbonara pappardelle which gave me a Japanese vibe as the mackerel was seared slightly and still raw - kinda like sashimi style. The steak was also not bad but a tad bit chewy. The juniper peppercorn sauce was unforgettable - it was that umami and salinity underscored by a deluge of intoxicating funk, the result was a rambunctious big bang of flavours. 💥 Chicken roulade is definitely a healthier option as the chicken seemed like a steamed chicken and it came with pickled red cabbage 😋 Lastly, end your meal with one of their exotic desserts 😍 The rosé-poached pear with Madagascar Vanilla creme fraiche, warm chocolate sauce is one that you must try 🌹It’s an alcoholic dessert with an astounding presentation. A beautiful pink pear sitting on a cloud of crème fraîche 💖 All this accompanied by a glass of moreish milkshake 🤤
Apart from that, another meaningful message that Take A Bow would like to highlight is – Celebrate the tiny victories. “We are here to applaud the unsung hero in you. It’s easy to overlook how much you achieve on a daily basis when you are busy solving problems and overcoming challenges, So we’re here to remind you and to applaud your tiny victories, which are just as important as your big wins“- by...
Read moreWe came here without any expectation, as we were so tired with load and load of cafe around Klang Valley with nothing stands out.
But we were so impressed by this cafe from food, to service and to environment.
THey have handmade pasta, but only available for dinner ( if you are looking for this).
So we just went for a salad and a pesto. The Caesar Salad was nicely done with generous portion, if you are a person who craves for large portion, you will be just good for this dish!
And the pesto is creamy and with very generous portion of pine nuts! It’s outstanding as compare to alot of cafe we went.
After this two dishes had impressed us, we just decide to order more, Almond croissant, homemade cola, and two coffee.
The almond croissant, was so good, and we rate them above Kenny hills’ Homemade cola, tasted like kefir, something interesting to try on. The coffees are very good! We love it! And they know how to make the coffee right.
Well, goood food alone doesn’t makes people happy on the cafe, the service does! The service is great because the staffs are attentive, and they work with passion, not just solely come here to work, serve your drinks and take your money. They communicate with customers, they observe and they are very helpful, on top of that, they are quick thinkers! It’s a blessing to have these good energy of younger generation in the working ground.
Lastly, well, with the inflation rate now, with this environment, in Bangsar south, we can’t expect for cheap price right? Their price are normal market rate, but with the portion, the fine making, and the good service, it will be reasonable / cheap. Price wise really subjective so judge on your own scale, I can’t justify for very one.
After all, this is one of the best cafe we had in kl. after went to so many dissapointed trips. Keep up the good works!...
Read moreI had a disappointing experience at Take a Bow in Bangsar during what should have been a joyous Christmas morning. Unfortunately, the combination of poor service, long waiting times, and below-average food quality turned our day sour.
We arrived at the cafe at 10:30 AM and were surprised by the slow service despite the low customer load. With only about 8 occupied tables and several empty ones, we expected better efficiency. However, our first drink was only served at 11:15 AM—45 minutes after ordering. Even worse, the main dishes took an appalling 1 hour and 15 minutes to arrive. Other tables that came in later were served before us, adding to our frustration.
The food quality was also a letdown. The Golden Egg Pasta and Scandinavian Smorgasbord, which came highly recommended, fell far below expectations. To make matters worse, the cups provided for our drinks were unhygienic, reflecting poorly on the restaurant’s cleanliness standards.
When we raised our concerns, the service crew offered a vague excuse about the kitchen being "busy," despite the clear lack of crowd. This lack of accountability and poor management further diminished the experience.
What should have been a joyful Christmas meal turned into a mood-ruining disaster. My partner was visibly upset, and we ended up canceling our subsequent plans for the day.
Given the high prices, subpar service, and disappointing food quality, I will not be returning to Take a Bow. It’s disheartening that such an experience marred what was meant to be a...
