Poor customer service is what I can emphasize of this restaurant. A lack of training are shown when food is being served. From careless spillage of food (with proof of the prawn dish picture attached below). Luckily the male captain came to clean up the mess. Personal servings of hot soups almost splashed when being placed roughly in front of us, non attentiveness of the captains, waiters and waitresses when being reminded many times to refill beverages. There were clearly more than enough of workers there. The Whiskey glasses were all dusty and dirty, one of the waitress even served a dirty and foggy empty glass to us. We pointed out to her immediately and ask for a new glass but no apologies were given to us. Our wedding hostess and hosts had to constantly ask them to wash the dirty glasses too. The female captain or person in charge in the ballroom was at times rude and showed frustrated faces when we kindly asked for help to set up slides or music. Such a high end restaurant yet not one technician was available to assist us. (by the way we were told there would be a technician to help set up the music and projector but interestingly, it turns out that the technician was nothing but "a HDMI wire" shoved to us and left us to figure everything by ourselves) This place will not be the right place if you're planning to host a wedding/birthday/farewell celebration with large groups of families and friends. The lack of customer service will be quite frustrating and dissatisfying. Don't expect highly for a smooth, satisfying and well greeted service throughout your whole celebration dinner. If you are planning to drop by for a small dinner, you might experience less worse of their service, but I wish you good luck. However I must give credit to the male captain, one or two foreign workers and waitresses that showed positive attitude who were more attentive to our requests. And that's about it. Hopefully some sort of training is given to improve your customer's service so it will live up to your customers' expectation, provided that the price and quality of food is at a higher end. Or else it's simply not worth it. First time visiting and will be our last.

We ordered four dishes and two soups. The dishes were quite good overall, duck very good . but the soups were a major letdown and significantly lowered the overall dining experience. The first was the Pumpkin Eight Treasures Soup. When ordering, the server repeatedly emphasized that it would take 45 minutes to prepare, almost as if they were trying to discourage us from ordering it. Strangely, it arrived in just 15 minutes, which immediately raised concerns. Unsurprisingly, the pumpkin was overcooked and mushy, and the soup tasted separated from the pumpkin itself—as if the soup had been cooked separately and just poured into the pumpkin. The flavor was flat and unimpressive. The second soup was their so-called signature teapot soup, which included bamboo pith (zhusun). At first, I thought it was just me, but it turned out the bamboo pith had a musty, moldy odor. I flagged this to the staff, who took it back to the kitchen and later admitted that the bamboo pith was not cleaned properly. The server apologized and offered to replace the soup, but I declined—I didn’t want to risk another disappointment. I expected the soup would at least be waived from the bill given it was undrinkable, but when the check came, the soup was still charged. I didn’t raise it on the spot, but honestly, having to request a waiver for something that was clearly not acceptable just feels unnecessary. For an establishment that presents itself as a good quality Chinese restaurant, both the food quality control and service mindset fell far short of expectations. I sincerely hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and improves both their kitchen standards and customer service responsiveness.

Sun 11 May 2025 - Expensive Meal We pre-ordered the Suckling pig and Peking duck, with an upfront payment of MYR 500 due to the pig. 1. Suckling pig – Priced at MYR 638, it felt a bit overpriced for the portion size, which was also smaller than expected. 2. Peking duck – MYR 158. We were offered two preparation options. First, the skin served with cucumber and wrap was decent, though the sauce was a little too salty. For the 2nd option, we asked for the meat to be chopped and served, but unfortunately, it was a little tough to chew. 3. Spinach – MYR 38. Average, nothing special. 4. Salted egg yolk fish skin – MYR 33. Also just average. 5. King prawns fried with ginger – We got about 5 pieces for MYR 88, which felt steep for the quantity. The staff were attentive and frequently changed our plates, but fish memory we had to repeat 3 - 4 times to request water. However, even warm or iced water is charged at MYR 1.50 per person. In total, we spent MYR 1,135.65, which didn’t feel worth it—especially since most of the Peking duck was left untouched. The meal also contained a high level of MSG, leaving everyone feeling extremely thirsty afterwards. The restaurant was quite empty and spacious when we arrived, but unfortunately, the overall experience didn’t meet expectations. We won’t be returning, given the price and quality.

I will never visit any of the Oriental Treasure restaurant again. I went to this restaurant today with my friend during lunch hour. The foreign worker ('worker') asked if I had made any reservation. Since I did not, I was informed that I need to wait as it was all fully reserved. I saw some empty tables but I was told these were all reserved. I then asked another Chinese lady (wearing spec) who I believed was the manager whether there is any table for 2 pax. She then asked the same worker whether the table right next to the counter (main entrance) is reserved. He said the table was not reserved but me and my friend are only 2 pax. At the same time, a group of people (3-4 pax) who arrived after me and were queuing right behind me and the worker asked if they have any reservation which they replied no. The worker was discussing with the manager to give the table to this group of people instead since this group has more people.

We were very disappointed and walked off. So Oriental now will only entertain bigger group? The table isn't that big and we came before that group of people but we were not entertained because it was only 2 pax? The manager and the worker didn't even bother to entertain us and openly discussed this in front of me (please be smart about it and don't discuss this in front of your customers perhaps). If you say the table is very big and reserved for bigger group of people like 8-10 pax, that I can comprehend but the table wasn't that big and we came first. This makes me wonder whether the other empty tables that were so-called reserved were actually reserved since I didn't see any 'reserved' sign on the table. If Oriental Treasure Group wants to entertain bigger group and to earn more big bucks, please put a sign outside your restaurant and make it clear to all customers. Otherwise, please don't waste your customer's time who came all the way to visit...

Met so many managers like Carmen and Mandy there for my wedding banquets arrangement, only Ms Jane Fong was professional, patient and helpful. She went extra mile to make sure things are right.

If not for Ms Jane Fong which we have met initially we would not have signed up any wedding package banquet here.

The rest of the foreign waiters all not properly trained & cant communicate in mandarin/malay or even English. Me and my guests have been scalded a couple of time when the staff refill our drink. Food serve not lukewarm and waiters removed our plates before we finished, which I think super rude. Also shark fin soup is horrible pls don't bother to order ( we had twice its thick like glue) better take Double boiled Chicken soup.

Their PA system not so good, very soft when we played our wedding video. And there is no other LCD TV around the restaurant and only got 1 small projector in the middle. And about 40% to 50% unable to see the projector display. No spot light or red carpet for wedding march in as well, no element of grand. I think they need to improve on this if they want to do serious wedding banquet business.

On the positive side, the crispy Chilean cod fish is very good! A lot of guests commented on that.

My advice is find Jane Fong if you want someone responsible to run your wedding banquet. Lucky they have her in this restaurant or else I'm sure I won't patronise there again. Am giving 5 stars because of Jane and Mr Michael who tried to make things right even my wedding banquet food was not served up to par at all.

Kindly note the above review is solely based on my personal opinion. And I left a comment because I felt the need to give credit to Jane and to feedback to the management on my...
