PS: only took photos of what I eat and not my parents’ food.
Went to try with my parents on a busy Saturday evening since we have passed by many a time without going in.
I was first astounded when I saw the price of genmai cha is RM8.50 per cup. Never have I been to any Japanese restaurants that serve tea that costs more then RM3, be it matcha or genmai cha. You can get the same quality of genmai cha at Yuzu upstairs.
The menu is expansive with all the egg in each item, mix japanese fusion with western. My family ordered chicken avocado salad, tkg salmon with avocado, chicken katsu sando and prawn pesto pasta, ending with black sesame panna cotta.
The salad. The absolute starter was served last! Salad and soup in a western restaurant is supposed to be served first and I really don’t understand how they can serve that last instead! Taste was average but the egg they gave is a whole egg without slicing… I get that its onsen tamago but it’s weird to be given a whole egg instead of sliced ones.
The TKG with salmon and avocado is very sad to me. They are very very stingy with the furikake. I thought TKG is absolutely easy to make and you can’t go wrong with it… but this is something that made me not to return to the restaurant. I would’ve made a better TKG at home. I guess that’s why they serve the rice with soy sauce on the side, otherwise super bland without it.
Chicken katsu sando is too dry. Not sure if it’s the toast or the chicken but 1 bite is all I took. Not going back for seconds. The fries that were served with it is okay though. Still hot and nice texture to it. Crispy outside and soft inside. But the sandwich is absolute disaster.
Prawn pesto is what my dad ordered and I didn’t try it. He said it’s nice though.
The panna cotta is nice without the sauce at the side. Wish they could give more kinako powder. My mum didn’t like it and said that it’s too sweet even without the sauce. YMMV i guess.
Overall i think it’s meh, and sorry to say, nothing would encourage me to visit again.. except the...

My recent visit to this establishment left much to be desired. The mocha was made with low quality chocolate-syrup instead of cocoa, resulting in a lacklustre flavour. The soufflé was far from fluffy, evident from the shrinking centre in the picture provided. The cheesy toast was cold, and even the scrambled eggs were served cold, which was unexpected and unpleasant. When we tried to cancel the dish due to concerns about its hygiene, we were informed it had already been prepared, raising doubts about the overall food safety. We decided not to eat anything displayed on the top but even the bottom toast felt soggy.
Furthermore, the advertised RM5 oolong tea was served in a glass with mostly ice and minimal tea, with the explanation that they had switched from a canned to bottled tea without updating the menu. While cost-cutting measures are understandable, transparency is crucial to maintain trust with customers.
Overall, our experience was a disaster. We had hoped to grab some snacks or light food to end our day but were sorely disappointed. The total damage amounted to RM60 plus for an incredible unsatisfactory meal and overall experience. I would strongly advise against visiting this establishment if you're seeking quality food...
Read moreI’ve had Nanban chicken many times before, and it’s always been boneless, that’s one of the key expectations of the dish. But here, I was served three small bone-in chicken pieces for RM16.50, which already felt underwhelming for the price. To make it worse, the “tartar sauce” tasted like nothing more than plain mayonnaise mixed with vinegar — completely lacking the proper flavor and texture you’d expect from real tartar sauce. When I raised this with the staff (who seemed to be either the chef or the manager), I was told, “That’s how tartar sauce in Nanban chicken is.” Frankly, that response just added to the disappointment. Either they don’t know what Nanban chicken is supposed to be, or they’re cutting corners, and either way, it shows. Not worth the price at all.
On top of that, their sourdough tasted like nothing more than dried, crispy bread. No chew, no tang, no character, just a disappointing slice pretending to be something it’s not.
And after going through your review after my dinner. All in all, overhyped, overpriced, and underdelivered — with customer feedback that goes in one ear and out the other. Not somewhere I’d recommend, and certainly not somewhere I’ll be...
