Ladies and gentlemen, fasten your seatbelts because we just had ourselves a nasi lemak showdown at Dome Gardens. On the ring: nasi lemak beef rendang versus nasi lemak chicken rendang. Ding ding ding!
First bite—the rice. Oh my coconut heavens. Each grain was perfectly steamed, fluffy as a cloud, soft as a baby’s cheek, and perfumed with santan like it just got kissed by angels at a kampung wedding. If rice had a beauty pageant, this one would’ve walked away with the tiara.
The rendang? Beef came out swinging—tender, slow-cooked, and coated in a sauce that whispered, “Darling, I’ve been simmering for hours just for you.” The chicken rendang? A glorious heavyweight contender. And the size of that bird—badabing! Jurassic portion! I half expected David Attenborough to narrate my plate: “Here, in its natural habitat, the giant rendang chicken roams freely…”
Now, the sambal. Here’s where Dome almost lost a round. Sambal is the Beyoncé of nasi lemak—you don’t just show up half-committed. This one was decent, but lacking that diva fire. It needed more punch, more sultry heat. It was good, but sambal should make you sweat, laugh, cry, and reconsider life choices—all at the same time.
And then came Wan. Ah, Wan—the manager, the unsung hero. Courteous, charming, the kind of man who could guide you through a jungle or, in this case, to another building without breaking a sweat. Five-star service with a smile, and probably the secret ingredient that keeps Dome running smooth.
Verdict? Dome Gardens, you’ve got yourself a winner. Gorgeous food, gigantic chicken, rice that deserves its own Netflix series, and a team that makes you feel like family. Highly, highly recommended—unless you’re on a diet. In that...

Read moreI used to like Dome very much. Food is good Coffee is great. You always feel you had good value despite the price.
Came here on a Sunday afternoon. The experience was poor. I do not know what is the exact reason. They are either under staff or they were just not working efficiently.
I stood at the "please wait to be seated" sign for 10 mins, no one acknowledged me and asked me to sit down.
Then later when I was brought to the seat. There was a waitress clearing up the table and rearranging the chair. It was so loud and created a tense atmosphere in an already difficult situation.
Waited for a long while for our order to be taken.
Then another even longer wait for my order. The food came well before the drinks. (Which was unusual). To make matter even worse was they did not even have small plates for us to eat. We just ate using the tissues they provided.
No one (manager?) Was there to oversee the operation. From an outsider view, it was very clear that they were struggling. They have enough people, but I felt they were not working as a team to help each other to expedite the work.
All these reasons, made the meals so bad. We left but we did not complain much, as I felt there was nothing the staff could do.....
I would have given this experience a one star, if not because I could see some of them were trying their heart out to serve the customer.
Dear Management,
You need to seriously look into this before you lose all your...
