Consistent quality Love the pork broth Update in 2025 April
Had a saturday dinner Wanted to visit since the reno Had to queue for 30 minutes, and this time the waiting area is cramped in a narrow corner instead of last time where the bench was situated facing outwards
We got the call Got seated Abit disappointed as we didnt get side seats We got the middle aisle seat close to worker rest corner The walkway seems narrower this time as the cleaning cart and our food cart barely fit, almost touching each other as the cleaning cart moved past, i watched with disgust The reno seems to have added more tables at the cost of circulation area
Service staffs are notably tasked with handling more tables as well, so expect less attention
Anyway Waited around 15 minutes for our soup, which is longer than usual Soup came, we quickly put in the frozen fish fishcake dish which took the longest to cook, and also our favourite
We ate around a quarter of our first round of foods, consisting of both fried foods and meats
But we realized the pork bone collagen soup tasted really off Theres the sticky collagen taste but lacks umami
We told the service lady our concern But she seems unaware of what to do, saying nothings changed
We continued to dine thinking it would get better after putting in more chicken
Half way through we decided this is nothing we used to have (and we really love this particular soup here that we frequent the place or other branches at least once in 1-2 months)
We asked for the manager, and another service lady asked for a sample bowl of the soup for tasting
Came back after awhile saying the chef commented nothing is wrong But they did give us a bowl of what appears to be the essence of the pork bone collagen soup, and asked to mix ourselves to taste (as attached)
We did and found that the soup finally tasted what we are used to, but sadly the whole ordeal took so long that we got tired We just finished our first round of order and left disappointed
Everything else in terms of food quality was alright and met expectations But the soup which is the most important dish needed some extra work as mentioned
There was also zero effort in scooping out the scums from the soup, which we happily experienced in our earlier visits
Overall they are polite and eager to help if you approach them, but dont expect the same level of enthusiasm that you are used to
Unlikely to return to this branch, maybe trx or tropicana city...
Read moreThe din and ruckus of the patronage reminded me of the halcyon days spent in the dining halls of Oxford.
The clattering of crockery and the general hum of the establishment gave an appropriate air of authenticity while the salmon pink walls mated to brass trim painted a garish, yet welcoming picture as we entered.
Myself and my esteemed guests, their comeliness matched by only by their wit, charm and intellect, were directed to our seats by a winsome chap dressed neatly in a sharp uniform, looking as though he'd attended a gala at Windsor Castle.
He took us through the ordering procedure, then left us to vigorously peruse the directory of delectable delights.
Settling on the finest handpicked fungi, thin slices of flesh from places in the furthest east, bean curd skins, lotus roots and a symphony of things green and leafy, we donned our pink dining cravats and waited.
Before long a bowl of broth arrived perfectly bisected. On one side, a toothsome collagen-rich concoction and on the other a fiery mixture sure to make even the most astute connoisseur of sub-continental delicacies raise a sweat.
Our server lavished upon us plates of exotic fruits from near and far, while swiftly doling out our chosen additions.
The meal itself was worthy of the finest houses in all of this world and the next. The leafy greens were freshly harvested. Bean curd maintained its firm, taut texture while serving as a vessel for the delicious broth. Mushrooms of all varieties offering scant resistance to the tidal wave of flavour building in the simmering pot.
Betwixt offerings we sampled the finest draughts and juices from lands near and far, entertaining ourselves with raucous tales of adventure and skullduggery.
Our thirsts slaked and our appetites sated, we bud a fond cheerio to our intrepid server and took leave of the situation.
As Oscar Wilde once wrote:
"After a good dinner one can forgive anybody, even one's own relatives."
and Beauty in The Pot is testament to this! Bravo.

We would rate the scallop collagen hot pot base 10/10 due to its richness, savouriness, omg-ness, and it’s just melts our heart ❤️… the collagen is best for our skin and health , that’s a pro point👍
So, we keep it simple on the ingredients… and paired it with lamb sliced, pork sliced, bird egg and tofu skin. These item would just blend in nicely with the scallop collagen…

You know it’s good when the hot Mala Soup has lots of herbs 🌿 and spices dancing 💃 in the hotpot. Here at Beauty In The Pot (BITP) , we are rest assured that the quality of the ingredients and services always top notch !
We ordered the sliced pork belly, mutton , quail egg, and fried spam meat 🍖
The scallop soup has bountiful of treasure in it like tofu, mushroom 🍄 and scallop! The broth was hearty, warming and comforting. We had to eat with 🍜 noodles ... to make it full filling ☺️
The Mala soup or Numbing soup (Szechuan spices and peppercorns) was very fragrant and tasty.. we could drink is as soup, but the numbing would kick in later on... that’s the beauty 😝!
We shall return !!!🤗
