Valentina Cucina Review
My wife and I booked a table for two at this amazing Italian restaurant.
From the moment we stepped into the restaurant we were greeted with hospitality like never before.
Upon ordering, the staff was nice enough to recommend us their best dishes and we listened!
Starters: Carpaccio di Manzo 10/10
Love the light textured mixture of wild rocket Parmesan and some raw beef. What could go wrong? With a splash of lemon to tie it all together, this was our favourite starter!
Parmigiana di Zucchine 8/10
(We preferred something lighter to begin with as a starter however, If you do have a small appetite like us I would highly recommend to share this. For the two of us after having this we were already 60% full)
Mushroom Soup 10/10
This was expected from an Italian restaurant and they executed it so well!
Mains 1:
Mushroom Risotto with slices of truffle 9/10 - Wife order
Risotto was what my wife was looking for when we had this restaurant in mind. It was truly a magical experience and do take the option for the truffle slices by the chef as he comes out of the kitchen to slice them onto your plate! Texture of the risotto can be slightly softer however, it was still magnificent
Pappardelle Funghi e Tartufo 10/10 - I ordered
The pasta was fantastic. For a person like me who loves the combination of mushrooms and pasta this was the gateway to heaven! Seasoning was just right, the pasta was el Dante. I like my pasta thicker than fettuccine and this was the right choice as per recommended by the staff! Loved this and will come back just for it!
Mains 2 - Shared Tagliata di Manzo 10/10
Wagyu beef was seared to perfection and the both of us enjoyed every bit of it, making this the epitome of our anniversary celebration! Paired with Himalayan salt, beef jus, this was how a perfect steak was to be served! Although we were already full, I still had the stomach for some greatly cooked proteins to wrap it all up!
Finally, for desserts, the both of us decided to go for the lemon sorbet as compared to the Panna Cotta. As we wanted to end it on a light yet tangy flavour as a refresher.
All in all if you’re planning for a celebration with your loved one I would highly recommend this restaurant! The ambience, the staffs, the comfortable sitting were all a perfect enclave to indulge your senses!
My wife and I had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back for more!
Thank you Valentina and the team! You have our...
Read moreCame here yesterday to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. Overall, it was a mixed experience – some good points, but also a few disappointments.
📌 Positives: • I made a reservation via WhatsApp in advance, along with a birthday decoration service. The arrangement was properly done, and the message on the birthday dessert was written exactly as requested — no mistakes. • The staff were polite and friendly throughout the evening.
📌 Areas for Improvement: • The “birthday decoration” package, which cost RM85, was quite underwhelming — it only included some fake flower petals, three balloons, and five small candles. The birthday dessert was not included and had to be ordered separately for an additional RM40+. • The most disappointing part was the Macallan 18 Years whisky we ordered. Priced at RM115, it came in such a tiny portion that it was gone in a single sip. It felt extremely overpriced and unfair, especially knowing a whole bottle outside is around RM1,000, but here it’s charged at over RM2,000-worth by the glass. • The Filleto Salmone (RM115) portion was very small — just about four bites. Not worth the price. • The Hot Chocolate (RM20) didn’t taste good — quite bland and not rich at all. • Although the staff were friendly, they weren’t attentive to details. For example, pasta was served without a spoon, and dessert without a fork. We had to request these ourselves, which made the service feel less thoughtful.
📌 What we did enjoy: • The Spaghetti Bolognese (RM65) was the best dish of the evening — flavorful with a decent portion.
TOTAL BILL: RM421+
In summary, while the staff were kind and the birthday dessert was well-prepared, the overall experience didn’t match the price we paid. If you’re planning to come here for a special occasion, I recommend clarifying all the charges and what’s included beforehand to avoid any...
Read moreAfter checking into the hotel, we were looking for somewhere convenient to grab dinner and decided to head up to the rooftop to try Valentina Cucina E Bar. The location definitely had promise — rooftop setting, sleek modern decor, and the potential for a lovely meal with a view.
But right from the moment we arrived, something felt off. There were quite a few staff at the entrance and bar area, but strangely, no one seemed interested in greeting or seating us. That awkward hesitation set the tone for the evening. Thankfully, one friendly young lady eventually approached us and turned things around with her warm smile and helpful attitude. She asked for our seating preference since the restaurant was pretty empty for a Wednesday night, and offered a few dish suggestions when we asked — something we appreciated.
We decided to go with the Caesar salad to share and a plate of vongole, since the missus was in the mood for clams. For dessert, we had tiramisu.
The Caesar salad was alright — fresh, decently dressed, but nothing particularly memorable. The vongole was a bit of a letdown. The pasta was cooked al dente, but the clams tasted flat and had that distinct “previously frozen” texture and flavour. It lacked the briny punch you usually look forward to in a good vongole.
Oddly enough, the highlight came at the end. The tiramisu was well done — a creative presentation and good balance of texture and flavour. Sweet, rich, and a nice end to an otherwise underwhelming meal.
Given the setting and the price point, I expected more. Service recovery was decent thanks to the one attentive staff member, but overall, I wouldn’t call it a satisfying dining experience. The view and the dessert were the best parts of the evening — the rest felt like style...
