Newly renovated venue. Nicer ambience and better dining atmosphere than the old outlet. However now they had stopped the practice of providing a big jug of hot water for rinsing the cutlery. Being so used to it over the years of dining there, I requested for one. And I got a shock of my life when the waiter answered me with a loud and blunt "CANNOT". He told me that their cutlery which was laid openly on the tables are very clean. No matter how clean, those cutlery were already set on the tables for hours unless they wrap it up with serviettes. I insisted that he gave me a jug or a mug of hot water and he can charge me for it but he still said "CANNOT" In the end, I managed to request one from the captain. When came to payment, I wanted to walk over to the cashier as I usually did in all their outlets, again the staff instructed me to sit still and he would bring the bill. After paying, I still had to continue sitting there till he brought my receipt. OMG! So much of formalities and restrictions which are time consuming. After all it's not such a high end restaurant, why must practise such formalities. Even at posh restaurants, we can still walk up to the cashier counter to pay, just to be practical. Let the customers do as they wish. I hope to see some leniency and flexibilities to all these fast rules on my next...
Read moreWhen a friend suggested me this place, I was not aware it is a 3-in-1 wellness centre - Healthland (massage), Herbaline (facial), Mama Kim (wellness food).
Was told to try sauna mee. It is a bowl of soup cooked in a hot stone bowl together with different kinds of vegetables. It has 2 different options - choose either with butter fish or pure vegetarian. Also, you can choose the carbs - either brown rice or noodles. The soup is refillable.
I like the blue rice sushi roll. It is vegan made with fresh fruits and sprouts.
I also ordered the appetizer - candied taro. The menu says chilled sweet taro. BUT it was a frozen taro when it served to me. It is difficult to separate it with a fork (May refer to the picture that the fork is able to stand 90 degrees). I'm quite disappointed with it!
The place is packed, but there is no queue. The chit chatting voices quite nosiy.
Overall, it is a great experience to try new food. If time permits the next visit, I would like to do facial, massage, and dinner together in a day. That...
Read moreBad service I have had. Not expecting excellent or outstanding service but not even basic been done.
Table was not clear till you asked for it. Hot water pour out due to staff A was cleaning the table and staff B suddenly put the cup of hot water on the table. Kept rising the hand but there was nobody noticed although they passed by in front. Have to go inside the restaurant and pass the order to the staff and also requested them to open the fan.
Although dont feel windy after turning on the fan at least dont get mosquitoes bites, it make difference!
When the restaurant was about to close and the staff only had the initiative to clean the table and proceed the payment.
Although the supervisor gave 10% off but really having a lot of disappointment. It never happen when visit competitor brand. The first time visit Mamakim and had a very...
