Visited Wagyu kokoro on a whim while visiting KL for the weekend upon receiving recommendations from friends!
The 30 mins Grab drive from Jalan Imbi didn’t feel long once we reached. We were greeted by the staff who checked our reservation that was made through FB message and brought us to our seats at level 2.
The staff kindly explained the details of the menu and was able to explain clearly when asked.
We got the Couple Wagyu Set (200gm of beef!) to share among the 4 of us, first to have a taste of how it’ll be like. The plating was beautiful, with 3 different cuts of A4 wagyu (loin, short rib and super prime short rib) were cut neatly with appropriate thickness.
Thereafter, we ordered another meat set! We really really enjoyed it.
The owner of the restaurant was kind to explain the different meat cuts and assisted in grilling the meat to its best. He gave suggestions on how to eat it or pair it with the available sauces.
The ambience of the restaurant really made me feel as if I were in Japan! There were Japanese themed murals on the wall with both sofa seats and sit down tables available.
I’m really glad that there is halal Wagyu now accessible and available for all to try and sample.
Thank you for your excellent service and please continue delivering quality meat and exceptional customer service. We will definitely be coming back in the future if we have a chance Insha Allah.
Once again, a highly recommended restaurant for those who are interested to try out premium Japanese style bbq. You won’t...
Read moreBought an eatigo voucher just to try out a halal yakiniku. Purposely travel to the restaurant and the owner told us that reservation is full and ask us to cancel the reservation in apps instead. That's a really really bad customer service. Totally disappointed and won't even want to try this restaurant anymore.
Edited based on owner reply on my previous review: In regardless of what time I made a booking, the matter of fact is booking is full and owner did not update his/her own reservation status. If you are full house, you should update the status upon receiving a booking confirmation. When we arrived and we asked, it is obviously the staff mistake for missing the said booking and did not update the status to "not available". Therefore it's very unfair for the customer that purposely travel all the way to the shop NOT KNOWING that the shop is actually fully booked since the reservation has been "confirmed". What angered us the most is the reply that we received from the staff saying "no table, full, we are not accepting eatigo booking" and asking us to leave without even thinking of checking the reservation which they have missed in the first place. Is that really good customer service? I wonder. If the owner insist that is it our fault and we are "rude" for asking too much, well, that's it then. We didn't even scream or shout or "demand" for a table in the shop lol. We are only voicing our opinion regarding the operation and sop of the shop, nothing to do with the food itself since we didn't eat...
Read moreThe wagyu A5 premium beef is superb, it’s well marinated and the taste is good. Although the price is premium but I felt worth it.
The Chicken Ramen cost RM20 per bowl with boiled chicken cube and some vege, I felt this is overpriced. Normal Japanese restaurant a simple ramen like this cost between RM13-16 only.
the Wagyu Bibimpap is disappointing, they used minced beef and the sauce of the bibimpap covers the beef taste entirely. I would rather they use thin slice instead. It costs RM30 per bowl.
Wagyu fried rice is similar too, it cost RM30 but only use minced beef I can’t tell if it’s Wagyu or regular. If I can’t taste the Wagyu then regular beef is good enough although they don’t serve regular beef.
A plate of 4 big prawns costs RM30, I felt it’s overpriced. And to top that the prawns is not fresh.
The Green Tea cost RM6 per cup! Wow double the price of Japanese restaurant. It’s says premium Japanese tea on my receipt but I can’t taste anything premium about it, just some regular green tea like other restaurant.
Beside the exorbitant price, I like the service of the staff, they are very friendly and explaining every step how we should enjoy the Wagyu slice without getting it overcooked.
Going there just for Wagyu barbecue, yes go for it. But for everything else it’s overpriced and...
