深夜食堂 Midnight Supper @HQ Melaka — Restaurant in Malacca

On the outside, it looks like a Taiwanese snack eatery, but it's actually a Thai eatery.

We came here pretty late, past 10pm, and they were one of the only places left open. It was pretty empty, so we were a bit reluctant at first, but decided to give it a shot anyway.

We ordered the roasted pork belly, the pork cutlet, and a bowl of Tom Yum Mama noodles.

The pork belly was very fatty, but the skin wasn't as crispy as I had hoped. It also came sort of cold, which felt odd.

The pork cutlet was really good. It was crispy on the outside, and the meat used was considered very lean, and not dry or too tough.

The Tom Yum Mama noodles were served with the Thai crispy fried egg on top. That was really fantastic, but the noodles were just so so.

All in all, decent food, but price point is considered a little high for the size of...

Had my supper here on Saturday night 9/3/2024. I called a Tomyam mama mee and crispy pork belly. To my surprise, the pork belly is cold. Seeking clarification with the staff, he said that it was cold due to vege that was placed as the foundation. On top of that, the texture of pork belly is kinda weird. Hmmm… quite disappointed. hope there will be an improvement in coming future. For the Mama Mee , it was normal… not spicy , not sour and not so close to...

The place is narrow, the music on too loud, and the people keep talking very loud. Imagine if the place is so crowded, you can’t even eat peacefully due to the place so damn narrow.

Food and drinks normal. Fried Ice Cream also normal. I ordered Thai Chocolate (forgot snap photo) - taste cocoa and bland.

It was after rain, and has stopped for the past 30 mins. There are flying termites (rain flies). Can’t imagine if they were reproduce it a lot of that...
