Revisited the cafe to show my friend the cafe where I had a bad experience. I was there at around 1pm on Thursday afternoon and happy to see that it was quite empty.
I did not see the racist staff there anymore. And my friend did put in a good word saying the place looks nice. Sigh, but the experience I had with this place was still bad and it became one of my conversation topic on having racism, as it is uncommon where I grew up in.
---_---------- Racist cafe? I experienced discrimination as a Chinese, worst still, by a Chinese?
Saw the high rating and went to check out the cafe Was there at 9pm for a coffee. While tables were full, I patiently waited at the seating area for 10min before a Caucasian pair came after me. They waited at the same sofa area for another 5min.
I was surprised that the same staff who attended to me served the Caucasian pair first before me. I confronted the staff to ask why, and he lied saying they made a call? Doesn't seem so as I was there when the Caucasian came and they were also asking for a seat.
Unbelievable that a Chinese will discriminate against his own kind, a Chinese.
I told the Chinese staff the cafe will receive a zero rating from me in google, and walked graciously into the lift out of cafe,...
Read moreWe had a delightful experience at Bica & Co Courtyard Cafe, located in the stylish Rosa Hotel. Here's what we ordered:
Tapas-Prawn Chili Olio: The prawns were perfectly cooked, tender, and infused with just the right amount of chili heat, making it an excellent appetizer.
Bica Beef Burger: A hearty, juicy burger packed with flavor, served with a generous portion of sides. It was satisfying and well-balanced.
Burnt Beef Lasagne: Rich layers of beef and cheese baked to perfection, offering comfort food at its best.
All the dishes were delicious, with great attention to detail in flavor and presentation.
However, we were disappointed to find the Grilled Beef Steak unavailable, which was the only downside of our visit. It would have been nice to see the full menu offerings available.
The service was prompt and friendly, with the staff ensuring we were well taken care of throughout. The ambiance was truly remarkable—modern, chic, and thoughtfully designed. Dining here felt like being in an urban oasis, adding to the boutique hotel's Michelin-rated reputation.
Overall, it’s a great place to dine if you’re in Malacca, perfect for food lovers who appreciate a good mix of ambiance, service, and...
Read moreFirst walk in i was actually a bit sceptical... seeing all bangladeshi server n prolly the cooks as well, but since have already came decided to just give it a try and go. If im seeing any restaurant or cafe with non local server i'd usually turn around but seeing all the good ratings n the staff were all looking decent so we just proceed. The cafe was rather smaller than i expected but very cozy and quiet - theres only 4 tables occupied that time so we can enjoy our dinner peacefully.
Menu was rather on expensive side average around rm30 n above. Ordered the famous chilli prawn tapas, i agreee twas really good and so flavourful! Immediately regret of why i ordered burger not pasta!!! The chicken burger was bland chicken fillet was too thick n lack flavour did not finish it. Fish n chips was okay. The fries n sweet potatoes and coleslaw were all goood, crispy n well seasoned! The prawns of the tapas were plump n fresh i wish they would serve more than just 4pcs cant get enough of it.. huwaaa. Ill definitely come back for it n to try out their pasta next time!
Plenty of parking outside...
