This is the WORST hotel i have stayed in. Just absolute nonsense. Save your money and your sanity and go elsewhere. The good reviews were most probably made by bots.
The first room we stayed in had the worst bathroom set-up- the shower is right next to the toilet and there is no screen partition between them. And the floor is completely flat without any ledges to partition the water collected during showers so the whole bathroom floor and toilet has a huge puddled mess. The best thing is there is a partitioned window looking into the bedroom so yes, for everyone sitting in the bedroom to have a full view of you while you're in the toilet/bathroom. Whoever the genius architect was who designed this, I hope you are only allowed to design in jungles these days.
But this was the least of our problems apparently; there was no side-table for my husband and some of the wall switch units weren't working. Apparenlt they had bathrooms with screen partitions within them as well. So we asked for another room and the staff shows us about 10 different rooms (walking into these rooms individually) and everyone of them have serious issues!! Some rooms had no side tables, some had minimal wall plug units , alot of the bathrooms were the same set up as the first bathroom I had described. Finally after seeing many rooms my husband and I decided for new room - which is a lot smaller than the first room, and only realised that not only did the floors have no carpeting but the floors were sticky and oozing glue from the floorboards. This morning I had to wrestle my slippers off the floor because it was stuck to the floor.
The place is also not strategic for tourists - you would require a car to go to the tourist areas. Walking to the nearing shopping centre is an arduous task of 10 minutes walk in the very hot humid and still air. That's if it is not bucketing down rain.
They only have vending machine food here. I had tried to order in some food (using Grab (somewhat like uber/uber eats) but one is unable to use it without a Malaysian registered number.
I would never recommend this hotel, and honestly it should...
Read moreWhen you step into the main entrance, the first idea you get is how rich the owner is but no concern on quality service, as long as money flows in.
-Check In- Waited 15 mins for the person in front to check in, waited another 15 for my own, although already booked online. If you got 2 customers in front of you, wait there for 30 mins. There are 2 Self-Check In Kiosks for museum-ish purposes. Not functioning and not used. I pity the counter staff’s poor operation procedure. Got to scribble stuff here, scribble stuff there, run to the PC on the other side, run back to the customer.
-Corridor- Just even going on the way to the room is a pain in the eyes. The carpet along the corridor seems never got vacuumed for a few months. That’s only what’s clearly visible. I wonder about what’s invisible.
-Room- Carpet is just slightly better than the corridor’s. Still got some potato chips pieces on my carpet. The bed? Visibly looks not dirty. Ah, ignorance is bliss. The toilet design is poor, especially the placement of the sink and its mirror. Water bidet was not functioning well. Hot water was good.
-Breakfast- Once again, pity the staff with the management’s poor operating procedure. Also took quite a while to admit customers inside. Also again, the staff needed to scribble things here and there, but this time a bit special: on their own’s plain A4 paper. They even spent time to disagree and discuss things right in front of all the customers hungrily waiting in line. Good thing they decided fast. But it can’t be unseen. As for the food: at least got something to eat. Portion of food and its components seem unstandardised. The cleaning staff also needed to pull the large black trolley with trash to clear the a table just next to many eating customers. Then “clang clung tang ting” clearing the dishes. Such an annoyance from a distance, imagine having that right next to your ears and meal.
-Conclusion- The operations are unsystematic and not well organised. Poor cleanliness. Just simply fit for purpose to...
Read moreSpacious (very spacious) rooms and bathrooms. And the bathrooms were clean and well-equipped, along with clear and constructive instructions on how to operate the shower heater as well as other electronics in the room. The breakfast served throughout the three days of our stay was exciting and worth every penny as there were varieties of breakfast ranging from local delicacies like nasi lemak, to instant noodles and mantou to western breakfast like waffles to cornflakes and tea, coffee, toast, breakfast sausages, fried noodles, cakes, oh you will be spoilt for choice! The hotel's location is quite strategic as well as it is about ten minutes drive away from melaka Town, 4 minutes drive away from Portuguese settlement and most other important and must-visit locations. The hotel has more than enough parking spaces if you're going to drive your own car around melaka. The swimming pool is hidden away on the rooftop of the second building (yes the hotel consist of two buildings within a compound), but with a breathtaking view nonetheless. There's a kiddy pool for the little ones to cool off after a hot day's adventure in melaka. Each guests in a room gets their own room access key as well unlike some hotels that give one key per room, which makes room access and use very convenient if everyone is returning and leaving the room at different times. A high wattage hair dryer is provided as well and the bathrooms have blinds on the huge semi-transparent bathroom windows (or walls, if you wish to call them that) so your privacy is guaranteed if anyone else is going to be in the room as you use the washroom to freshen up etc. There are also conference rooms and other...
