I am extremely disappointed and angry with my stay at Grand Swiss-Belhotel Melaka. This hotel does not deserve to be called a 4-star hotel at all.
The carpark and carpark lift were terribly designed and shabby.
The entire room smelled of dust and mold from the dirty carpet.
The fridge was unclean.
The bathtub grab bar was peeling, showing exposed metal.
The sofa was stained and disgusting.
The pillows smelled horribly — like armpits — absolutely unacceptable.
Slippers were forgotten. When I requested them, they sent a small size that didn’t even fit. I was forced to walk barefoot on the dirty carpet.
There was a door connecting to the next room with horrible sound insulation — I could clearly hear snoring and an alarm at 6am.
The furniture was old, scratched, and stained.
The hair dryer provided was cheap, weak, and barely usable.
The room may be spacious, but it was bad in every single detail.

What makes this incident worse is the way it was handled. The manager was not even informed about what happened. The staff apologized and gave another chicken burger which we declined. For such a serious mistake, I expected the manager to step in immediately, apologize, and take responsibility. Instead, there was zero accountability.
This is not just bad service - it is disrespectful, negligent, and culturally insensitive. Food orders must be handled with care, especially when they involve religious restrictions. We also spotted a cockroach during breakfast and made a complaint-the staff at front desk took it lightly like it was a common sight.

After realizing hours later that we had left some belongings in our room, we contacted the hotel. Ms. Haswani at reception was extremely polite and helpful, promptly securing our items with the help of Mr. Iswandi from housekeeping. When we returned around 1:30 a.m., Mr. Aqil received us warmly and handed over our belongings smoothly and respectfully.
