Wilson Chicken Rice — Restaurant in Malacca

Went here because of a review that my friend saw on Food Advisor. Perhaps that affected part of our expectations. Apparently, the restaurant was labelled as non-halal, but when we sat there, we were told that the place is halal. Ordered Calamansi Lime juice but the boy said there was no lime, and offered barley, when we asked what other drink, he said there is asam boi. So we ordered asam boi, but barley drinks arrived. My friend later ordered lime juice as he didn't realise that there was no lime available today. However, the server did not say anything and just brought an asam boi drink! The chicken was only ok, no wonderfully crispy skin. The chicken head was added to the plate. Saving grace at the restaurant was the chicken rice ball as it was flavoured nicely and the green veggie was fresh. Chilli wasn't too bad either. Sadly, I wouldn't shout out to come and eat here, especially since the chicken on display at the front was fake and the staff said it is just a model. Disappointed to leave Melaka...

Visited this corner chicken rice shop in the Gajah Berang area. Located in front of a busy street, this restaurant is famous for it's simple, no-frills and delicious chicken rice served quickly. The staff here is attentive and efficient, service here is speedy as well. Ambiance is a decent olden day coffee shop and it's clean as well. The food came in no time and I can say that the chicken is moist and tender. The chicken is served in a decent amount of soya sauce and sesame oil. The taugeh with salted fish complements well with the chicken rice. The fried intestines is really good as well and the rice is not dry.
