Tamara Hotel Review
(Date of stay 12/10/24- 13/10/24)
This hotel is new & renovated hotel. It just operates around a month. I had book the hotel on 12 October 2024 for RM 150 include breakfast for two person. We had arrived at 2pm on 12th October. However, I felt quite disappointed 😞 as our room is still not prepared yet. Fortunately, during our stay, the hotel had held Hi-Tea promotion that include four menus (Kueytiow goreng, bihun goreng, Pisang goreng, sandwich) at price of 0.99 cents on each menu & came with free Teh Tarik. All the menus feel tasty but the highlight is obviously the Teh Tarik. The hotels also provide welcome drink to visitors.
At 2.45pm, finally our card to check in our room had been received and we need to pay RM 50 for deposit.Once settle pick all our item & belongings from car, we enter our room at 3pm. The room simply stunning. There had iron, iron board, hairdryer, safety box, hanger, laundry bag, refrigerator. The TV come with variety of channels while the aircond had function well and able to cool our room in short time. The highlight obviously the king size bed & the pillow as it super comfy and you will be able to get the deep sleep and recharge your body for tomorrow activity. The room decorations is simply amazing and top notch as it feels exclusive, modern and minimalist. Our room had been equipped with city of Malacca view. As for the toiletries, they provide all item such as toothpaste, toothbrush, hair cap, shave & others.
Later at 5pm, we go to level 5 where the swimming pool & gym located. Unfortunately, during our stay, the gym not yet operate as it still under maintenance. Aside from that, the pool offer a stunning city view as there had transparent glasses. The pool itself are lengthy and have two section for adult and kids.
During night, there is a noise from Indian temple nearby as there held some religious practice. The sound from those event are too loud and penetrate into the room. It quite disturbing especially for those that have children or baby as they will easily interrupt from those nuisance. The event ends at around 10.30pm - 11pm.
Early at the morning, we go to cafe at 7am to had our breakfast. They offered quite variety of menu from Lontong, Nasi Lemak, Mee goreng, Bubur to bread, cake, cornflakes/ coco crunch and so on. All the food is tasty and delicious. The highlight of the food obviously Lontong with Kuah Kacang and Rendang Daging. The meat is super delicious and the felt of the Kuah Lontong are super tasty too.
Later at 11.40 am, we settle checkout process and get our RM 50 deposit back. Overall, our experience during our stay at this hotel was nice and fun. The room was splendid, the breakfast was excellent too, just the location maybe a bit turn off for some. Nevertheless, for those who survey for a hotel around Melaka Centre city, I would definitely recommend Tamara Hotel as it offers great hospitality with reasonable price and value...
Read moreSubject: Extremely Dissatisfied with My Stay at Hotel Tamara, Melaka (25/1 - 26/1)
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with my recent stay at Hotel Tamara, Melaka, from the 25th to the 26th of January. I have never encountered such a frustrating and poorly managed hotel experience in all my years of travel.
Positive Aspects: The hotel did allow for an early check-in at 2:00 PM, which was appreciated. After my complaint regarding the initial room, they did provide an alternative room. -Beds were clean and comfortable to sleep
However, the cons far outweighed any positives:
Room 1: Unacceptable Air Conditioning Noise Upon checking in, we immediately noticed that the air conditioning in our room was unbearably loud. We contacted reception and were informed by the technician that it was "normal," which is utterly unacceptable for a hotel of any standard. I was unable to get any sleep due to the noise, which led to unnecessary frustration from the very start of our stay.
Room Change Process: After complaining, I was told by the receptionist that the room would need to be checked again before a change could be considered. This process took nearly one hour, with multiple back-and-forth discussions that were inefficient and highly frustrating. This delay was completely unnecessary and incredibly unprofessional.
Room 2: Unbearable Rotten Odor After finally being moved to another room, we went out for dinner, hoping for a fresh start. However, upon returning, we were greeted with a foul, rotten onion smell permeating the room. It was so overpowering that it induced a near-vomiting sensation. I immediately called reception, and a guard was sent to verify the issue. The smell was indeed confirmed, but once again, I had to repack and go down to the lobby to request yet another room.
Room 3: Persisting Unpleasant Odor After being moved to a third room, I was shocked to find that the same rotten onion smell persisted in the bathroom. At this point, I had completely lost my patience and, out of sheer exhaustion, had to clean the bathroom myself in a futile attempt to resolve the issue. I have never had to change rooms three times in one night, let alone deal with such a continuous and unpleasant issue.
This experience has been an absolute nightmare, and I am appalled by the lack of professionalism, cleanliness, and overall management of this hotel. I have never experienced such poor service and unacceptable conditions at any hotel before. To go through the process of checking into three different rooms in a single night and still face issues is completely unacceptable.
I regret my decision to stay at Hotel Tamara and will not be recommending it to anyone. This was an absolute waste of money, and I strongly suggest the hotel take immediate steps to address the issues...
Read moreI recently stayed at Hotel Tamara Melaka for 3 days and 2 nights. While the hotel looked new, clean, and modern from the outside and the lobby area was quite stylish and spacious. Unfortunately, my stay didn’t go entirely smoothly.🚪 Check-In & First ImpressionsThe check-in process was fine, and the hotel interior looked polished, with a clean reception area and bright decor. The staff were polite and attentive, which I appreciated.🚽 The Main Issue: Toilet SmellHowever, the biggest issue during my stay was the unpleasant smell coming from the toilet in our initial room. I reported it to the front desk, and they quickly sent housekeeping to clean it thoroughly, which I appreciated. Sadly, even after cleaning, the smell returned later that evening when we came back from dinner. We requested a room change, but the hotel was fully booked that night. The only available option was a twin bed room, which wasn’t ideal, but we had no choice as the toilet smell was really unbearable. Thankfully, the second room was much better. Clean, no odor, and everything worked as expected. I’m glad the hotel team managed to accommodate our request despite being full.👍 What I Liked: • Beautiful, modern lobby and common areas • Quick response from staff when I raised the issue • Second room was clean and comfortable • Nice touches like bright flowers and a decorative trishaw in the lobby👎 What Could Be Improved: • First room had serious plumbing/sanitation issues • It took a room change to solve the problem • Twin bed instead of a king, not ideal, but understandable due to availability⭐ Final Thoughts:Overall, this was not the most pleasant hotel stay due to the room issue. However, I do give credit to the staff for trying their best to help. If maintenance improves and the rooms are better checked before guests arrive, the hotel has good potential.Rating: 6.5/10I might consider staying again, but only if I’m assured of a properly...
