A Disappointing Experience at Beena's Restaurant
I recently dined at Beena's Restaurant, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I entered, it was clear that customer service was not a priority. Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, the staff seemed completely uninterested in attending to the customers. It took a while before anyone even acknowledged my presence, and when I finally wanted to place my order, I realized that you could easily walk straight to the checkout counter without anyone minding or stopping you. There was no queue system, and no organization in handling orders, which added to the confusion and frustration.
When it came to the food itself, the experience was just as bad, if not worse. The dishes I ordered were tasteless and lacked any distinctive flavors. For a restaurant that presumably specializes in good food, this was a huge letdown. There was no seasoning, and the meals felt like they were hastily thrown together with no regard for quality. I had high hopes for something more, but Beena's fell short in every way when it came to flavor.
Adding insult to injury, the portion sizes were extremely small. It felt like I was being served an appetizer rather than a full meal, despite paying full price. For the amount charged, I would have expected much more substantial portions. The small serving sizes left me still hungry, feeling like I hadn’t had a proper meal.
And to top it all off, the water served was another point of frustration. It was essentially 90% ice and 10% water. This was not only wasteful but also incredibly annoying, especially when you’re hoping for a refreshing drink to wash down the poorly flavored food. It seemed like the restaurant was cutting corners wherever possible, including on something as basic as water.
Overall, my experience at Beena's was thoroughly disappointing. From inattentive service to bad-tasting food, tiny portions, and watered-down drinks, there was nothing redeeming about my visit. I certainly won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a quality...
Read moreNew dining outlet when I visited in May. Previously I visited another outlet near the Tower 3 of First World Hotel, which was super crowded during the peak hours of breakfast and dinner. Prices are reasonable and quite a wide range of food to choose from. Every meal purchased comes with one FREE drink. Besides that, you are allowed to choose any drink you like.
Came to this outlet in the morning around 10am, not that crowded. Maybe the morning crowd had already left. There were plenty seats around. However, the staff assigned the two of us to a corner which is just right beside the staff cleaning table where they placed their cleaning cloth, table sanitizing stuff and so on. We felt very uneasy when the staff kept walking around to clear the tables, to and fro to get the cleaning cloth and it might smells. In my point of view, they should either move the staff table away, or they should just left our table unuse.
Okay let's talk about the food now, I have ordered Char Koak Kak, Chicken Roll and their recommended Laksa Puff together with a glass of Beauty Peach Gum. Char Koak Kak was like our fried carrot cake, a bit saltier but less oily. But the flavour is not bad. Chicken Roll was quite similar as the ngoh hiang, it was tender. Laksa Puff was kind of interesting, not really spicy and a bit of sweet, quite savoury and the puff was crispy and hot. The highlight will be the Beauty Peach Gum drink served in cold, not too sweet and you can taste every sip with white fungus and peach...
Read moreI had a delightful experience at this Malaysian cafe that specializes in Penang cuisine. The food was both affordable and incredibly tasty. The service was also excellent—friendly and attentive from start to finish.
The ordering process is straightforward: you tick off your choices on the menu paper, head to the counter to pay, and then wait for your food to be served. We ordered the Nissan Mee set and the Signature Fried Laksa set, and we were pleasantly surprised by the generous portions, especially considering the reasonable prices.
The Nissan Mee had a comforting, homely taste, and the Signature Fried Laksa was delicious. The tables were clean and spacious, making it a great spot for large groups to dine comfortably.
The staff were polite and attentive, with a sweet-looking female server constantly walking round and round, checking in to ensure that all customers were well taken care of. Overall, a wonderful place for anyone craving...
