🚫🛑Most dissapointing theme park ever. I'm giving this theme park 1 star for many reasons which I will state down below.
Likes: ✅Cable Car ride to the theme park. This was really cool and super cheap. Also includes a free stop at Chan Swee Temple which is worth a visit. ✅Location. The location is awesome, located like 1800 meters high in the mountains. ✅Nice shopping mall and outlet on the way. ✅Simple ticketing system.
But this is where my reasons for liking the park stops. Dislikes: 🟥Overpriced theme-park. Compare it to any other higher quality park in Asia and you will see Skyworlds is way more expensive. 🟥Extremely long down-time on rides, and very frequent maintenance required causing more down-time. 🟥I tried to go on the Ice-Age rollercoaster, then got told that we can't bring any bags (not even a fanny pack lol???). This was after the ride was finally fixed. So I went to the lockers which were full. Went to another locker area further away and then realized that the lockers are not even free😂 Lockers are extremely pricey and are forced upon you. Never been to a theme park where I couldn't store my bag for free at the ride itself. After paying for the locker I was finally able to go back to the ride which accumulated a 1-hour queue. After waiting in queue for 45 minutes it went down again because of the rain and I was forced to leave the queue once again. 🟥There's not many rollercoasters. So eventually I got to ride the ice-age rollercoaster which was a mediocre experience. The ride was nicely decorated, had some decent viewpoints but overall just a very mediocre ride. 🟥Because of the rain we were forced to use raincoats. Once again I was forced to pay in order to enjoy the park. This seems to be an reoccuring thing at SkyWorlds. 🟥No entertainment in the park, nothing exciting for kids nor for adults. Very mediocre experience walking around the park. 🟥The mobile application was completely useless and all it did was show me that none of the rollercoasters that actually looked cool were ready. Skyworlds advertises and promotes rides that aren't even finished yet. In the app it will show as if it is ready to ride, until you fully open the ride and read "future" in small letters. Very misleading. 🟥After spending 2 and a half hours in the park and being consistantly disappointed me and my girlfriend decided it's time to leave because literally everything was closed in the park due to the weather. We left the park and I went to the customer service. Described the situation, shared my complaints and told them I'm truly disappointed by the whole experience and misleading advertising. I requested a refund but got stared at as if they saw the 3rd coming of Jesus. I asked if they could do ANYTHING for me but got told that ONLY if I went back into the park, waited for 2 hours, I could be eligible for a free-entry coupon for the next day (even though I was leaving Malaysia the next day). I told them that's completely pointless for me and requested a refund due to the awful experience and everything being closed down. They said they can't do anything for me.
⚠️Note that I also asked the staff at the theme park if they could transfer my Skyworlds ticket to a Skytropolis ticket (which is their smaller indoor theme park). I told them I don't need the money back for the price difference (it's half the price) and that I just want to have a fun time with my girlfriend. This was impossible😐
After this experience I tried reaching out to Skyworlds through email and got offered a 50% discount coupon for 2 tickets for Skyworlds. I obviously can't use this because I'm not traveling to KL again anytime soon. After once again telling them about this fact my emails were ignored.
This is the first time I ever had a negative experience with a theme park. I've been to various theme parks in the world, every in the Netherlands, numerous in Germany, numerous in Thailand, Disney in Paris and California and US in Florida. Compared to any other theme park experience Genting Skyworlds was the worst of all.

Thrilling games
If you are looking for a thrill, go for these:
andromeda base (boleh sakit jantung, vertical scare) samba gliders (like a roller coaster, but you will be hung in a seat and fly from the top) esd global defender (pusing-pusing teruk, high as well) alpha fighter (360 fast spin, slightly high) Defiance (3d screen, but the seat moves a bit, and it will lift you up. You will feel like you are sucked into the screen. You might feel scared.)
Prepare to vomit. The rollercoaster isn't open yet, but it will be soon.
Wet games
-Epic hummingbird (spin, but not fast, and no rotation, not too scary) -Epic voyage (boat journey in the water, but there will be 2x thrilling moment. Imagine yourself falling from a high river. Behold!) 😈
Beware. You can get wet, so play these at the end of all your games.
Game for the fit people 💪🏻
Bootcamp
This is like jump street 21. Wall climbing, merentas halangan, obstacles, flying fox. If you’re used to it, it will be easy.
Game duration:
Most games are only about less than 3 minutes - so you won't feel scared for too long
exception: -ice age live show - probably about 15 minutes -bootcamp - as long as you want, it doesn't really have a specific duration.
The bad parts
-The sudden technical check-up on the games. This made me wait for 15 minutes. -Most games are short-spanned, so your enjoyment will be short. -Some people may find this area small. -I hope there will be more games. -The Skyworlds app may suddenly cancel your VQ reservation! This is gonna make you mad if you have to queue with the walk-ins. -I hope Genting improves its app.
Worth the price:
I appreciate the design and the beauty of the set and the animation. See it for yourself. Everything is neat and designed to suit each theme. Instagrammable. Rio is the nicest city ever. The american Cowboy City is the second amazing theme. The museum is superb, too! Go to the epic, and you will love the green. I love everything about the decoration. It's not easy to make all this happening. Thank you to the team who has gone through all the preparation.
Come to theme park on weekdays because there will be fewer people.
The games may go through some technical issue or sanitisation before they resume as usual. Just listen to the...
Read moreApr 2025 2nd time to this theme park! Still love a few rides like Epic & Acorn & Independence Day and loving new rides like Terraform Tower & Planet of the Apes!
We entered around 1025am and managed to complete the rides we wanted (exclude kid rides) by 6pm - amazing! Plan is to clear all outdoor rides in case of rain/bad weather. During entering, we were told to scan our QR tix and what's new is they captured our fingerprint as well so that we can exit & enter again later on.
We started with ESD global defender (lvl 1 highest thrill ride, not operational during rainy days). Extreme ride for a warmup! We then tried Sid's Rock and Slide. Next, the cloud was a bit dark so we went to Epic Voyage to Moonhaven ride with our raincoats prepared (Indoor and a lil outdoor, may close during rainy days as well). We took this ride twice as there were no q and we wanted to fully utilize our disposable raincoat.
Then we went to Samba gliders and then Blue Sky Carousel to chill for a while. Next we went to Ice Age Expedition Thin Ice which has a super long q. Finally, Acorn Adventure is open and we super enjoyed the ride! We then went to Alpha Fighter Pilot (do take note the rides will have upside down).
After clearing all the extreme rides, we had lunch at Buck's Cafe. Food is expected to be expensive and soso but no choice lah.
We then continued with Zeppelins Ride to chill after lunch and then tried Planet of the Apes ride (we were lucky it was drizzling while we enjoyed the indoor ride). Next we went to Rivet Town Roller and enjoyed own spinning and screaming during the ride.
The q for Terraform dropped from 50min to 15min so we went to try this and loved it!! Last but not least, we used our 1st Virtual Q for Independence Day.
We skipped some rides like Rio Carnaval Chaos, Mammoth Fun zone, boot camp Training. Too bad Night at the Museum was unavailable.
July 2022 It is open like finally!!! Need to record down this date - July 27th 2022. Who doesn't love a theme park right?! However the rides are quite limited, so there was a promotion on the ticket price. We were lucky there was no rain and not many people q ing for the rides as it is a Wednesday.
Definitely need luck to play in the park (no rain and no heavy mist and rides to be available). Terraform tower challenge was unfortunately not available.
Our 1st ride was Samba gliders, nice to get an aerial view of the whole park. Try to sit in front for a more thrilling ride. 2nd was Alpha Fighter Pilots (Andromeda Base), highly recommended. Next, we tried Rivet Town Roller - it was nice and then Bigweld's Zeppelins - just to chill for a while (can skip if you are looking for very thrilling rides.
Independence Day Defiance is highly recommended, it was awesome. After that we tried ESD global defender - nice but not thrilling compared to other rides. After that we went to Night at the Museum, Midnight Mayhem - they have very nice decoration but the ride is a bit boring.
We then q-ed for Acorn Adventure but there was a technical issue so we left for Sid's Rock and Slide which was only so so. Epic Voyage to Moonhaven - very highly recommended but will be 50% soaked with water. We brought our raincoat along so it was okay and fun!
Went for lunch and came back again in the evening for Acorn Adventure - this is highly recommended!! Overally, it was a great experience and can't wait for the theme park to be fully opened since many of the rides are still not available.
p/s: Remember to install the Genting Skyworld app which is very useful for map, free photos and Virtual Q pass. Remember to bring...
