This might just be the best location to enjoy hotpot. Paired with the cooling weather, the immense vibes that come along with eating hotpot are so good! Located on the highest floor of SkyAvenue along the bar street, the restaurant is open to the cold air outside, which adds to the ambience.
This is a really crowded and popular location, so be sure to make a reservation at least a day in advance if possible via their reservation website or phone. They do not accept same day reservations. You can choose to walk in, but depending on the crowd, you might need to wait a while. My group waited about 30-45 minutes before we could be seated.
For walk ins, you just have to leave your contact details with the front desk staff and they will contact you when it’s your turn to be seated, so you can continue shopping while waiting. You will also be given an expected waiting time which in our experience, is pretty accurate and you typically don’t have to wait longer than an hour in most cases.
When entering, you are reminded that the dining time is limited to only 1.5 hours. This feels quite rushed because hotpot typically is a very long meal to bond with friends and family. However, this is understandable due to the sheer amount of people waiting for their turn. It would be great if the dining limit is raised to make the experience feel less rushed and more enjoyable.
The collagen soup was the highlight! It was so tasty, rich and smooth, and wasn’t too salty. Definitely the best collagen soup I’ve tried in a hotpot! It also comes with a lot of ingredients in the soup that add to the overall value of the broth.
As for the ingredients, you have the choice to choose from half or full portion sizes, depending on your appetite. Their portion sizes are a little small for huge groups, so you might find yourself ordering double or 1.5 portions of a certain item, especially for meats.
Similar to Haidilao, they also have a condiment bar with various condiments and fruits. They don’t have beancurd or cold sides though! They do have a yuzu slushy offered to you at the end of the meal though!
Service was also good, and staff were attentive to us and offered to refill the soups and drinks for us.
Overall a good experience and would definitely recommend trying this if you’re in Genting, and if you...
Read moreI recently dined at Beauty in the Pot (Genting Branch) and, unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. Here are some key points that need attention:
Service Inconsistency: Throughout our meal, we were attended by multiple waiters, which led to confusion and repeated interruptions. For instance, different staff members kept coming over to add soup, even though it had just been added by someone else. This lack of coordination was frustrating. Other branches that we've been to, had dedicated waiters in each area.
Quality of Food: We ordered the live drunken prawn, a dish we have enjoyed many times before. However, this time, the prawns served were clearly not fresh. They were dead and appeared to be frozen, which was very disappointing. When we raised this issue, the staff tried to convince us that the prawns had died since the morning, which was hard to believe given the obvious signs of them being frozen. Plus..the menu states "live drunken prawns" so the fact they can proudly state the prawns were dead from this morning is a joke!
Handling of Complaints: When we requested a replacement for the prawns, the manager informed us that they had no more live prawns available, which seemed implausible given that it was only 5:30 PM and dinner service had just started. It felt like an excuse to avoid addressing the issue properly.
Customer Interaction: The staff’s approach to handling our complaint was poor. They kept insisting on irrelevant details, such as how to cook the prawns, instead of addressing our actual concern about the freshness of the seafood. Additionally, one staff member interrupted our conversation abruptly, which was quite rude. He had no context or understanding of the situation nor even heard our grievances when he just interrupted a colleague to dismiss our feedback, stating "just cook it for 2 minutes" - we're not fools. We know how to cook.
Overall, the experience was far from what we expected based on our previous visits to other beauty in the pot branches. The quality of the food and the service both need significant improvement. We hope the management takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary changes to ensure a better dining experience for...
Read moreEnvironment was modern elegant and classy. Expect to wait 2hours on normal days and 3hrs on peak hours (or to make rsvn days prior to your grand arrival). Each table was given an Ipad upon entry to place initial and additional order. Doesn’t accept ewallet payment. Service Crew Mr. Yik Hai is doing a really terrible job. Did not assist in getting sides i wanted (watermelon) which ran out of stock on the buffet table charges RM8+ per pax. Disappointing. MeiZiGuo’s services had a steep drop. Whereas Service Crew Wei Hong did a better job and gave better services.
However for the services here, really don’t deserve the expensive price. A small portion of glass noodle charges RM6 without tax. 2 pax total spent RM360 on the night of our visit. Once again, disappointing services and portion received.
First few visits which consists a small group (2-4person) was great. However, there’s once i went with a larger group (6-8person) and was arranged to be seated at the indoor round table. The superior soup was only taste for the first 2 times. The following refill soup is so bland. We continue ordering and the soup is getting lesser as time goes. The staff just keep refilling the base soup (which is not the original soup, only lightly flavoured soup - as mentioned by MZG Staff). Staff are not attentive to their customers as well, when we have serious request and really want the chef or the manager to look into this issue, waitresses told us that we only paid for the first filter of flavourful soup base. That is the most unacceptable attitude i have ever received for my dining experiences so far. Really rude. Not keen to even try to do something. Ingredients are great. Vege portion is small and pricy, but giving it’s located in genting, thats alright. Seat wise, i prefer outdoor seating. MALA soup wasn’t as authentic as i have tasted in Szechuan, but Collagen soup was good tho. Attached with pictures taken...
