I recently had the pleasure of dining at Burger & Lobster and I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish.
Atmosphere Located amidst the vibrant atmosphere of Genting Highland, Burger and Lobster offers an unique dining experience that brilliantly combines the best of flavours with succulent lobsters. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome by restaurant manager Mr.Surendran and inviting me and my wife to experience the wonderful moments. Mr. Surendran also bring a live lobster to our table and we got a chance to snap a picture with the hero of the day. The decor blends with soft lighting charms and comfortable seating. It felt like the perfect spot for a casual dinner or a special occasion.
Service The service was exceptional. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, and she offered excellent recommendations from the menu. She checked in on us at just the right moments, ensuring our glasses were never empty and that we were satisfied with our meals.
Food Now, let’s talk about the food.
We started with with Chili Lobster and Lobster roll as a main course which was packed with the fresh Lobster meat.
When the Chili Lobster arrived, it was a feast for the eyes. The lobster was cooked to perfection, with a beautiful bright red shell that promised a delightful meal. The dish was generously coated in a rich, spicy chili sauce that had just the right amount of heat.
The lobster meat was tender and succulent, and the sauce complemented it perfectly, adding layers of flavor without overwhelming the natural sweetness of the lobster. It was served with a side of freshly baked bread, which was perfect for soaking up the delicious sauce.
Original Lobster Roll
The Original Lobster Roll arrived beautifully presented, nestled in a soft, toasted brioche bun. The lobster was generously piled high, showcasing its freshness.
The meat was tender and succulent, lightly dressed with a creamy mayonnaise that enhanced but didn’t overshadow the natural sweetness of the lobster. A sprinkle of chives added a fresh touch, and the side of crispy fries was the perfect accompaniment.
The balance of flavors was exceptional. The buttery bun complemented the rich lobster without being overly filling. Each bite was a delightful combination of textures—soft lobster, crunchy fries, and the pillowy roll.
Durian Tempura:
When Durian Tempura arrived, it was beautifully presented which is golden and crispy served with a dipping sauce. The Tempura batter was perfectly fried, offering a delightful crunch that contrasted with creamy durian filling. We not expected this kind dish from which make the durian lover fall for the first sight with this dish.
Drink : South Carollina tea, one of the different Tea that I drink in experience feel so wonderful and the Gin was blends well with the tea.
Overall dining at Burger and Lobster was a fantastic experience that exceed my expectations. Whenever go to Genting Highland this restaurant definitely a worth to visit and will create a memorable...
Read more“Come for the food, but beware of inconsistent service”- a deeply disappointing service that ruined a special family celebration.
We made a reservation the day before for a big family dinner — a rare reunion to celebrate our grandmother’s birthday. The hostess was warm and accommodating when we arrived early, but things quickly took a turn when our assigned waiter began treating us with clear impatience and thinly veiled judgment.
When we asked about ongoing promotions (so we could plan properly for our large group), he responded as though we were being difficult — avoiding direct answers, dismissing our questions, and finally saying, “No, you ask my manager,” when we asked about seating across multiple tables. The tone and body language were cold, as if we were unwelcome or not worth his time. We felt unfairly judged — even looked down on — and couldn’t help but sense it was racially charged.
We were trying to celebrate a joyful occasion with our loved ones, but this kind of service soured the mood entirely. Despite that, we still placed a large order: four lobsters, five lobster rolls, and several add-ons. Yet even then, the service didn’t improve — we weren’t given enough glasses or cutlery, and had to ask more than once.
Eventually, someone noticed and quietly reassigned our waiter — a gesture we appreciated, but by then the experience had already left a bad taste. The food itself was delicious (credit to the chefs), but no amount of good food can make up for being treated with such disdain.
We left feeling disappointed, disrespected, and hurt. For a restaurant of this stature, basic decency and hospitality should come standard — especially on a night meant to be filled with love and joy. Think twice before dining here...
Read moreCamy by again, service still somewhat lacking. Hard to get the attention of waiters and most of them look super demoralized. The first one that served us came by with a half an attitude and we were surprised by the "terms" that requires you to order 1 more main if you were ordering the tower (usually for 4-6 pax but we had 7 pax) which is weird because I thought the 4-6 was a recommendation of serving size.
Be mindful it's for up to 6 pax only because they have refillable chips and salad. Even the manager couldn't explain something so simple.
Anyway, food was good. I think all the dishes were solid. Lobsters were fresh.
I would come back again but maybe try the branch in KL instead. Thankful for one of the servers (Indian lady) who was very polite and friendly.
Total spend for this trip - RM 1121 for 7 pax, bout ~160 per head.
------- Update above ------ Last time I came here was a long time back, so I decided to pay another visit a few years later. Service was ok but somewhat lacking. They seemed abit understaffed, wasn't very easy getting the attention of the servers. Anyway, that aside, when we managed to get them they were polite and helpful.
Wait was about 35 minutes - we came at 5pm. So if you hate waiting, do come by earlier.
On to the food, it came fairly quickly after our orders. From the view of their kitchen on my way to wash my hands, it looked like the kitchen flow runs well. Lobster rolls were yummy and brioche was fluffy. Chilli lobster was good too and it came with 4 brioche on the side to go with the sauce. The flavour was more to the western style of chilli lobster rather than the asian version.
In comparison to an old menu photo, prices have also gone up quite abit, understandably.
Hope...
