Family dinner for 8 pax [4 adults, 2 children (5 and 9) and 2 seniors (one with a walker)].
When we arrived, the restaurant was maybe 80% full. We came here cos there was seats and no need to wait. DTF opposite had a 30min waiting time. It was maybe 7+/8pm and the seniors and kids were hungry.
We ordered a whole table of food including 2 kids meals and desserts. The service staff repeated the orders to me and they were all correct.
As the dishes arrived, wait staff do not help to shift and arrange other plates on the table so there is space. They just left the dishes at the side of the table.
When about 80% of the food has arrived, we asked about the kids meals. At this point, the kids were very hungry. I asked about the missing orders. Not all the wait staff speaks English not mandarin. They had to get another service staff to attend to me. The staff that came was the one who took our orders. Then he realised he didn't put in the orders for the kids meals. He said he'll put a rush on it and it'll be out in 5min.
10 minutes passed. No signs of kids meals. At the point, we have almost finished our food. And no one cleared the empty places. By now, the restaurant is maybe 20% filled. I wonder why no one bothered to clear our plates.
Asked again. The same guy cld not wait for me to finish my sentence and walked away. Then he came back 5min later with the kids meals.
Of course the kids gobbled the food down.
After all the waiting. We forgot our desserts. But no one came to ask if we want our desserts served anyway. And no one cleared the empty plates. We had to ask many times for serving spoons and for bowls (for sharing soup).
There was no service recovery. Even when enquired.
The meal came up to almost RM600. After deducting the desserts.
It's a popular chain restaurant. Service was charged. I don't understand the quality of service. Isn't clearing emptied plates part of the service? Isn't helping to arrange the table so dishes can be served part of the service? Sure we can help, but we were also trying to take care of the 2 kids and w elderlies. Hence we chose to pay for service and hopefully be able to enjoy our dinner.
Whe asked how come no one cleared our plates, no answer. When asked how come no one came to ask if we want our desserts served, we were told we have to ask for it. They won't ask.
Sure.
Food is up to standard. But not the service.
There are some expectations when we chose to dine...

Food Review The food at Paradise Dynasty in Genting was nothing short of delightful. We started with the signature Xiao Long Bao, which were perfectly steamed with delicate, flavorful broth inside. Each bite was a burst of savory goodness, and the dumpling skins were thin yet sturdy enough to hold the filling without breaking.
The La Mian was another highlight, showcasing the restaurant’s expertise in hand-pulled noodles. The noodles had the ideal texture—chewy and satisfying—while the broth was rich and well-seasoned, providing a comforting and delicious experience.
We also enjoyed the Fried Rice, which was beautifully cooked with a perfect balance of flavors. The rice grains were fluffy and well-separated, with a subtle smoky aroma that elevated the dish. The addition of fresh ingredients added a nice variety of textures and tastes, making it a well-rounded and fulfilling dish.

The xiao long bao is absolutely a must-try – thin, delicate skin filled with rich and flavorful broth, bursting with taste in every bite. It’s easily one of the best I’ve had.
