Food is nice, fish & chips are great. Just the service is not so acceptable. We ordered 5 fish & chips, a homemade mushroom soup and 1 beef lasagna. When the 1st waitress reconfirming the order, she confirmed the soup, and asked if 3 fish are halibuts and 1 perch. I'm confused and asked if she wrote 5 fish & chips order, she blurred a bit and said yes. Then we proceed to confirm all 5 will be halibuts. (After that changed to 2 halibuts due to sold out and that's fine with us). The rest of the order was not being repeated after that.
The main concerns are as below: Wrong food being provided. I am sure that Beef Lasagna is what I said and ordered. But beef bolognese was being served. We informed the food is incorrect. The 2nd waitress (shorter girl) came and took away the food, then said what we order is bolognese. I reassured her it's lasagna instead. What's more funny is that she came back again and said we ordered beef "pasta" and proceed to explain there're 2 types of pasta which we were the one who made the wrong order and get confused. I reassured her again for the 3rd time, we ordered lasagna. I am certain that's not a proper way to deal in this situation to a customer, which first and foremost, we did not place a wrong order. If the waitress came back and ask if it's okay to proceed with the bolognese instead, we may discuss and accept it without all these hassles and unhappy moments. Why come and accussed the customer?
We have finished all the fish & chips, still waiting for the lasagna, but none to be served. We asked if we still have an order yet to be served. She said let me check (in a long face) and never get back to us. My father went and ask again directly to her face, she answered "I did checked, walked over and informed you all just now, but none of you responded to me", well in fact, she DID NOT come to us and inform. 🙂
This is a good place, we hope the staffs can get proper manner training. There are more better ways to handle this kind of situation.
Oh well, what a sad experience. I was expecting nice food and a happy Sunday...
Read moreExtremely lousy and super duper slow service The good ratings are definitely not for the service. First up we sat there for 40 mins , no food served, not even the drinks. When asked we were told it will take time as they are full house today. Ok, gave them benefit of the doubt and continued to wait, only to be told that they ran out of halibut and to compensate offered a tiramisu (which tasted good) . Ok, changed my order to what they had available, only to be told (after waiting for another good 30 mins) that the server simply forgot to give my order in the kitchen because they are so busy. UNBELIEVABLE !!! Even though the server apologised but it was just simply ridiculous. If you cannot manage a full house, either reduce the size of your “house” or increase the number of your staff. But dont give this as a reason to not serve waiting and paying customers. Oh! and cherry on the cake, they even charged for the dish that never got served. Good that my husband realised the extra charge and got our money back before we drove off. One star only because the food (whatever little we got as half the order simply never came) tasted good. But it doesn’t compensate for the extremely poor service and leaving a restaurant hungry after waiting for 1.5 hours. Never...
Read moreAbsolutely Fantastic Experience! Visited CAPTAIN FISH last weekend and had an amazing dining experience. The staffs was incredibly friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The service was fast and very professional. The ambiance was cozy, perfect for a relaxed evening out. I ordered the carbonara pasta and it was cooked perfectly. The carbonara was thick and creamy. My dad had the fish and chips. As I know CAPTAIN FISH is well known for their fish and chips and I get why now. It was absolutely delicious and worth the hype. While my mom had the chicken chop. It was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The portions were generous, and the presentation was top-notch. The highlight of the night, was definitely the lava cake. Served warm with rich chocolate inside and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side. It was rich, mouth-watering and the perfect ending to our meal. Me and my parents couldn’t stop raving about it. Highly recommend this place for a date night or a casual dinner with friends or family. It's better to make a reservation too before going since CAPTAIN FISH is packed most of the time. Reasonable prices for the quality and service. Can’t...
