Lucky Restaurant is a well-known spot in Ipoh, especially famous for its seafood dishes like the signature Golden Porridge , Sky Level Number One Porridge天下第一粥 ,(sorry for translate directly from chinese) 🤣freshwater prawn noodles, and many other seafood delights. The prices are on the steeper side, which might not appeal to every local diner, but in my opinion, they’re worth every cent. What stands out most is the consistency — the chef delivers every dish with the same quality and flavor on each visit. It’s clear that there is a lot of dedication, time, and effort put into the preparation of every item on the menu. You can truly taste the commitment behind the cooking. It’s also a bit of a hotspot — don’t be surprised to see supercars parked nearby, adding a touch of glamour to the dining atmosphere. The restaurant also offers a variety of high-quality Chinese teas, perfect for pairing with the rich seafood dishes. In short, Lucky Restaurant may not be for everyone due to its premium pricing, but if you’re looking for top-notch seafood and a consistent culinary experience, it’s definitely worth a visit.

Open from early morning 7.30am all the way to 3.30pm, be sure to drop by here if you intend to have a good lunch meal munch. Oftenly published on the newspaper of their speciality seafood dishes, from fish to prawn to crabs up to your preference. Each meal up to order are considered non basic and to some extent, a premium dish with their own bits of addition to get its uniqueness. We had the chicken soup with Yu piu that tastes like light sang guat yuk (生骨肉), bacon wrapped prawn, steamed fish (forgotten which fish), and the pork knuckles. Pork knuckles are a good shout as the taste and crispriness are there, to me it is better than those western restaurants that mainly serving on pork knuckles. But of course, people do come here for the seafood porridge or the big crab and big fish dishes as they are known for it. So if you love seafood, this is the place you should try. Tho be very very careful as the price ain't cheap to begin with over here, so only do come here if you feel like splurging your money, and doesn't feel bad about it and all when all you care is to have a good munch.

First time here and we ordered a few items. The Fish Noodle with Prawns and Chinese Pomftet (斗鲳) is truly good. The prawns and fish are truly fresh and the soup contains all the freshness. The owner said there’s no MSG added and I do believe that too. The fish noodle also has a very good texture. Taste alone, this is a 5 out of 5. However, the price is definitely on the higher end - though I don’t doubt that the materials are good, good fish and 3 XL prawns, the price of RM160.00 is indeed a little frightening, even though the food is enough to serve 2-3 person. Homemade Fish Balls are selling at RM1.50 per ball and it’s good too - though my personal preference is for it to have a firmer texture. But what they are serving is already good. Prawn crackers are decent and is a good appetiser. Overall, would definitely return again, if I have the budget.
