Lucky Restaurant is a well-known spot in Ipoh, especially famous for its seafood dishes like the signature Golden Porridge , Sky Level Number One Porridge天下第一粥 ,(sorry for translate directly from chinese) 🤣freshwater prawn noodles, and many other seafood delights. The prices are on the steeper side, which might not appeal to every local diner, but in my opinion, they’re worth every cent.
What stands out most is the consistency — the chef delivers every dish with the same quality and flavor on each visit. It’s clear that there is a lot of dedication, time, and effort put into the preparation of every item on the menu. You can truly taste the commitment behind the cooking.
It’s also a bit of a hotspot — don’t be surprised to see supercars parked nearby, adding a touch of glamour to the dining atmosphere. The restaurant also offers a variety of high-quality Chinese teas, perfect for pairing with the rich seafood dishes.
In short, Lucky Restaurant may not be for everyone due to its premium pricing, but if you’re looking for top-notch seafood and a consistent culinary experience, it’s definitely...

We had the chicken soup with Yu piu that tastes like light sang guat yuk (生骨肉), bacon wrapped prawn, steamed fish (forgotten which fish), and the pork knuckles. The owner said there’s no MSG added and I do believe that too. The fish noodle also has a very good texture. Taste alone, this is a 5 out of 5. However, the price is definitely on the higher end - though I don’t doubt that the materials are good, good fish and 3 XL prawns, the price of RM160.00 is indeed a little frightening, even though the food is enough to serve 2-3 person.
Homemade Fish Balls are selling at RM1.50 per ball and it’s good too - though my personal preference is for it to have a firmer texture. But what they are serving is already good.
Prawn crackers are decent and is a good appetiser.
Overall, would definitely return again, if I...
