My childhood memory! This restaurant has been around for more than 30 years. I only had light breakfast so only ordered lei cha and char keow teow. By 11am, popiah was already sold out (it was a holiday). Be sure to go early if you want a taste of the famous popiah. Spent RM6 each on both the dishes. Hakka Lei Cha 5/5. Very concentrated broth, great flavour. Portion is just nice. CKT 4/5 Good taste of pork lard though I don't see the chunks there. No lap cheong. Just some small shrimps and taugeh. Wok hei is not prominent. Overall still pretty decent. Won't say that it's the most value for money order but almost every table can be seen with CKT so that's some credibility there. Cleanliness 3/5. The new section at the back is quite nice and clean. The front area is so so. You can find a wash basin at the back dining area. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Taiping!

Overall rating : 3.5 stars 2022/12/29 There's a new stall here selling Lei Cha. Lei Cha with rice, or noodles. Very good at RM 6.00. highly recommended. 2022/04/09 CKT has improved. They have changed the type of bean sprouts used, no longer bitter. Curry Vegetarian Noodles has always been the item to go for here. This item is served only on Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. I seemed to have without failing ordered Lemon Tea with no sugar every time. Char Keuy Teow would be above average, too much been sprouts might run taste. Char Siu Wonton Noodles was average the last time I tried. Overall, definitely worth a try.

Very good curry mee. It combined the taste of penang and ipoh. With fishball, fishcake and small prawn, what a new taste. Popiah also a must in this coffeeshop. Similar to penang style. Juicy and mix of evenly spread vege. U should not missed the stall that sell yellow rice with curry chicken. Long time didn't taste this kind of authentic taste. Miss that Last but not least. I have tasted so many Hor Kar Sai in taiping, kuala kurau and tanjung piandang, but this one is my no.1. Do not miss. It is mixture of Milo with Coffee and similar to Dynasaur Milo in KL

They don't really have much food left by 1pm.. Its more of a breakfast place. The CKT was OK; the plus point was the portion was big. The wantan mee seems to be using a different type of noodle which was less eggy. The wonton and the mix of the sauce was good I do prefer more eggy noodles. The kuey teow soup was good , especially the broth . If I do ever come back would try most of the menu from the Kuey Teow soup shop . Didn't get to try the nasi lemak nor the chicken rice shop .

After several decades in operation, this is still a good place to visit for cheap and good food. The main highlight is the char koay teow and popiah. Both still bring back memories of the good old days of Taiping food. The iced coffee (kopi peng) is also good and compliments the food. The shop can get very crowded during peak hours and especially during holidays and Qing Ming. Note, close on Wednesdays.

A very old and popular Kopitiam, opens early and closes or runs out of food fast, specially for the lei cha and popiah. Toom yee mee was good, but different from the photo of the dish on the cart. Nasi Lemak was ok. Other food looked really good, I think I didn't have the best choices because many other dish were out of stock. So until next time.
