Stairs by Hazel Floristry — Restaurant in Perak

Hi yall, I usually never leave bad reviews and this is a first time thing for me. But I just feel the need to share my experience here and hopefully the cafe management and service would improve.

To make it short, I came here with 4 other friends in 2023. They each ordered a drink for themselves. I didn't feel the need to order anything because I usually don't order drinks at cafes or restaurants.

We sat down at a small table, and we were chatting and talking as well as having fun. The moment was ruined as one staff came and told me that one person has to buy at least one drink if they want to sit down at their tables.

I was really embarrassed, and I tried to take my time and stall from having to buy a drink because I didint really feel like I wanted one. Another staff came again to remind me and I was already feeling really uncomfortable.

So, I had to come downstairs and order a drink. I've never had this type of experience happen to me before and it felt like the most bizzare and absurd thing a cafe can do. And not to mention just pure greedy ☹️ For a small table, 4 drink orders aren't enough?

I was really disappointed, and it was my first time ever coming to that cafe. I wouldn't know if I would ever be comfortable to come there again. Even the street stalls that serve ABC and cendol are much nicer with their service.

That's my review, I hope that the cafe can do something anout this matter. I don't blame the staff at all because I know they are just doing what they have to do.

Was having quite a high expectation for this place but was quite disappointed, first we came in with 4 pax, then ordered two drinks and a Croffle but the cashier said we needed to order 4 dishes cause it was the minimum requirement especially since we had 4 pax, this I thought was pretty weird cause we wanted to share the drinks but ended up needing to add on one more drink.

Moving on to the food, the Croffle we ordered was Strawberry Cream Croffle, first the cream tasted weird like it taste bad. It had no sugar/ not a pleasant taste thus we proceeded to ask the waitress what is in the cream and she said it’s whipped cream with no sugar but with drops of lemon (something like that). Idk… maybe it’s just how it tasted but it tasted really bad/ very strong pungent taste as though the cream has gone bad or smth.

I know what whipped cream taste like but having no sugar in it was already very weird cause most whipped cream has sugar or some sort of flavour at least a pleasant one. However, this was really really awful, so sorry I had to be rude about this but It left a terrible after taste in the mouth.

Also it even smelled so strong like sour pungent kind of smell… anyone would think it had gone bad tbh. I have also personally asked the waitress to taste the cream just to make sure it was okay but she also said it tasted fine and that was how it was supposed to taste. Then she offered to change the cream but we decline as we were already disappointed by the “rules” they have for customer upon the amount of dishes ordered and now the “whipped cream” tasting unpleasant. The girl that served us was nice and tried to provide us a good experience but unfortunately it left a bad impression.

Update: I went recently, disappointed with the food. Tak sama macam dulu. Portion dah lain, harga dah mahal. Sorry stairs, you just lost a loyal customer. TOP NOTCH 💯 My fav place to hang out. Food is delicious, big portion. But the price is on the high side. Drinks are fancy and taste good.
