Visited Kopi Kaw in Ipoh recently with high expectations, especially for their signature drinks. Unfortunately, the iced lemon tea, which is heavily promoted, was quite disappointing—lacking the punch and freshness one would expect. The soda longan was also quite ordinary and didn’t stand out in any way.

On a brighter note, their toast and soft-boiled eggs were up to standard—classic and satisfying. The chicken rice featured fragrant rice that was enjoyable, but the portion of chicken could definitely be more generous to justify the price. The char kuey teow was decent in taste, though priced higher than usual for a dish of its kind.

Service was efficient, and food and drinks were served quickly, which was a plus. The atmosphere is cosy. However, pricing leans towards the higher side—for example, the lemon tea alone is RM7, which feels steep considering the overall experience.

It would be better if there are more vegetarian...

The cosy environment with air conditioning provided a comfortable ambient to savor Ipoh local delights. The duck egg fried Koay teow was one notch above the standard chicken egg version. Generous Ipoh bean sprout grace up the koay teow nicely. The Chicken slices Hor Fun came with generous chicken slices however the soup base was slightly lack the sweetness which in my opinion, could be further enhanced with a slight rock sugar. Friendly & smiling faces from the father & son combination cheer up our morning. The verdict was that Duck Egg version did bring out the stronger aroma of the Fried Koy Teow. Thick local coffee w/o sugar (Kopi O Kaw) jazz up...

An air-con kopitiam serving hawkers fare 👍 Had the char kuay Teow . Comparable with the top CKT in Penang ! The Ipoh Kai Si Hor fun ( chicken & prawn flat rice noodles) soup was superb. Second only to Ah Tiong in Pasir pinji area in Ipoh . The luncheon meat scramble egg polo bun was unusual. Big portion enough as a meal; the bun was flavourful . The teh C is ordinary but coffee C is good. This is the equivalent of Oo coffee waterfall kopitiam in Penang my favourite Food 5/5 Location 5/5 it’s just 5mins walk from AC hotel by Marriott Atmosphere 5/5 comfy aircon with good food Will come back again to try...
