A Hidden Gem in Ipoh - Kedai Kopi Keng Nam!
Tucked away in the heart of Ipoh, Kedai Kopi Keng Nam is a small, unassuming coffee shop that packs a big punch when it comes to serving up delicious local eats and exceptional coffee. As a self-proclaimed foodie, I'm thrilled to have stumbled upon this hidden gem, and I'm eager to share my enthusiasm with fellow travelers and locals alike!
From the moment I stepped into Kedai Kopi Keng Nam, I knew I was in for a treat. The cozy atmosphere, complete with rustic wooden tables and chairs, immediately made me feel at home. But it was the food that truly stole the show. I ordered the popular curry Hor Fun, which arrived steaming hot and bursting with flavor. The noodles were cooked to perfection, and the curry sauce was rich and creamy, with just the right amount of spice. I also tried the Chee Cheong Fun, which was silky smooth and served with a delightful sweet sauce.
But what truly sets Kedai Kopi Keng Nam apart from other coffee shops in Ipoh is its exceptional coffee. I'm a coffee aficionado, and I can confidently say that their white coffee is one of the best I've ever had. Rich, smooth, and full-bodied, it's the perfect accompaniment to a delicious meal or a relaxing afternoon in the coffee shop.
What I love most about Kedai Kopi Keng Nam, however, is its authentic, local charm. This is a coffee shop that's clearly a favorite among locals, and it's easy to see why. From the friendly service to the mouth-watering food and exceptional coffee, everything about Kedai Kopi Keng Nam screams "Ipoh" - and I mean that in the best possible way.
In short, if you're looking for a genuine Ipoh experience that's off the beaten path, look no further than Kedai Kopi Keng Nam. With its delicious local eats, exceptional coffee, and warm, welcoming atmosphere, this small coffee shop is a must-visit destination for anyone...

It's a little crowded most of the time but tables are available.
Order the chicken chee cheong fun on the 1st left, you can choose curry chicken, curry pork skin or chicken with mushroom (if I heard correctly). Chee cheong fun is really smooth and chewy. Curry chicken is nicely cooked and it's probably marinated beforehand so I like the taste of the chicken alot. Just that the curry taste abit like the instant maggi curry hotcup, not as bad just didn't expect that.
The glutinous rice with kaya and hainanese kopi is a must try. The glutinous rice is one the softer side but has really nice fragrant. The kaya is not as smooth and really special, felt like having a good quality nyonya food. Ipoh has good coffee in any restaurant but this Hainanese kopi is kinda outstanding. Nicely brewed, sweetness is just right, not too "kaw" for me so I can finish the whole cup and not feeling stuffy.
The yong taufoo after the chee cheong fun stall has pretty good curry. I prefer this curry more than the chee cheong fun stall which has nice fragrant and more local taste. The yong taufoo wise is nothing really special for me. Fried 沙葛 beside the noodle felt like hashbrown with too much flour and undercooked.
The uncles to take our beverage order is really friendly towards other frequent customers and really hilarious. Other than the foods I actually enjoy the good atmosphere by the people in...

Relaxed, casual kopitiam frequented by locals for the chill vibes and good food. Famous for the curry noodles and kaya glutinous rice, there are other choices available too such as chee cheong fun, wantan mee and liu fun.
The dry curry noodles are quite alright. Taste-wise hits all the correct notes, but I'd prefer a thicker and creamier broth. The curry paste is not as rich and decadent as say, Yee Fatt near MGS. Also, the toppings are limited to chicken slices and char siew, both of which are just normal. A hard pass, but there are definitely better.
The liu (meatballs) met expectations. But at RM1.50 per liu, it's pricey. Surprise of the morning was the coffee. Once subpar and the worst part of the cafe, today they make wonderful white coffee that's rich, creamy, slightly bitter, with just a touch of chocolate. I love it.
I don't have the urge for repeated visits here, but for a casual breakfast meetup over good coffee and alright food, it's more...
